Whether you are a first-time registrant or an established trader, New GST Registration in Thousand Lights deserves a specialist rather than a side job. From Rs.1,499, our GST-focused Chennai practice runs the entire process on written checklists and senior-reviewed submissions.
We serve businesses on and around Whites Road — document pickup, in-person consultation at our Porur office, or fully online over WhatsApp.
Share your number — a senior GST consultant calls you back within 30 minutes.
Businesses in Thousand Lights looking for New GST Registration want two things: work done correctly and someone answerable when questions come. Thousand Lights is Chennai's medical and corporate core, where Apollo Hospitals and a chain of speciality clinics, labs and patient guest houses crowd Greams Road and Greams Lane off Anna Salai, near the landmark Thousand Lights Mosque. Hospitals earning exempt healthcare income alongside taxable pharmacy, room and canteen revenue must apportion input tax credit under Rules 42 and 43, the district's defining GST dispute. We serve this belt — including Nungambakkam and Egmore — with fixed fees quoted upfront, a written document checklist, and filings completed ahead of statutory due dates. Every acknowledgement is shared the day it is generated, and our support continues if the department raises any query on work we have filed.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Freight paid to transporters, advocate fees, imported services and other notified supplies attract GST under reverse charge, with self-invoicing where the supplier is unregistered. We maintain a running RCM check every period, because this is the liability self-filers most consistently miss.
Most GST notices trace back to mismatches between GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B. We reconcile these before filing, not after a notice arrives, so your returns are internally consistent and the most common triggers for ASMT-10 scrutiny simply never appear.
Goods sent to job workers must move on delivery challans, return within the statutory period, and be reported in ITC-04. We track every outward and return leg for manufacturing clients in Thousand Lights, so inputs sent out for processing never quietly convert into a deemed supply carrying tax and interest.
If a query, ASMT-10 scrutiny notice or DRC-01 arrives on a return we filed, we stand behind our work and help you draft the reply. You are not left alone with a departmental letter and a thirty-day clock ticking against you.
Every new client receives a review of their recent returns before we file anything — unclaimed credit, GSTR-1 versus GSTR-3B drift, and exposures worth correcting quietly. Businesses in Thousand Lights often discover in this first review exactly why their previous arrangement was costing them money.
Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, marketplace reports, plain Excel or even a handwritten bill book — we take your data in whatever form your Thousand Lights business already maintains it. You are never forced to buy new software or retrain staff just to become our client.
You share PAN, Aadhaar, photographs, address proof and bank details over WhatsApp or email. We review each document against portal requirements and flag anything that could trigger an officer query.
We draft Form GST REG-01 with the correct business constitution, principal place of business, HSN or SAC codes and authorised signatory details, then share a summary for your confirmation.
The application is filed on the GST portal and we guide the authorised signatory through Aadhaar OTP authentication, which speeds up approval and usually avoids physical verification of premises.
We track the ARN daily. If the officer issues a notice in Form REG-03 seeking clarification, we draft and file the reply in Form REG-04 within the permitted time.
Once approved, we download your registration certificate in Form REG-06, help set up portal login credentials, and brief you on invoice format, return due dates and e-way bill obligations.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: 3-7 working days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
A fixed professional fee is almost always cheaper than the combination of late fees, interest, lost credit and staff hours that informal, last-minute compliance quietly accumulates over a year.
Each period you receive a simple computation showing output tax, credit utilised and net cash payable, so GST becomes a number you understand and question rather than a figure you accept blindly.
Interest on delayed GST payment runs at 18 percent per annum, which is costlier than most working capital finance. Timely computation and payment through our calendar keeps that meter permanently at zero.
Loan applications and government tenders routinely demand GST returns and registration documents. With everything filed and archived properly, you can produce a complete compliance file within hours instead of days.
Whether moving between composition and regular scheme, opting into QRMP, or crossing the e-invoice threshold at Rs.5 crore, transitions are planned in advance rather than discovered after a compliance breach.
E-commerce platforms continuously validate seller GSTINs and filing status. A consistently compliant registration keeps your listings active and settlements flowing, with no sudden suspension of your online sales channel.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Time cost | Roughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours. | Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself. |
| Late fees and interest | Filings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise. | Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum. |
| Portal credentials and data | Logins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward. | Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data. |
| Due-date tracking | A maintained compliance calendar with internal cut-offs days before the 11th and the 20th; we chase you for data, not the other way around. | Deadlines remembered from memory or phone alarms; one busy week and the return slips past the due date. |
| Registration and amendments | Query-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify. | Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations. |
| Goods in transit | E-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty. | A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment. |
Whites Road is a secondary arterial road in Thousand Lights, about 950 m east of the centre of Thousand Lights. The same consultant covers the streets immediately around it — Westcott Road (about 100 m); Patullos Road (about 250 m); Woods Road (about 450 m); Club House Road (about 450 m) — so a site visit on Whites Road can usually be combined with other work in Thousand Lights on the same trip. For GST purposes an address on Whites Road falls under the Chennai North CGST Commissionerate, and the Thousand Lights pincode is 600006.
Road classification and position from OpenStreetMap; distances are straight-line and approximate. Jurisdiction must be confirmed on your own registration certificate.
A working knowledge of recent instruments and judgments is what separates a defensible filing from a risky one.
Imagic Creative (P) Ltd v. Commissioner of Commercial Taxes — Supreme Court, (2008) 2 SCC 614, judgment dated 09-01-2008 · 2008-01-09
An advertising agency was charged value added tax on the entire consideration although service tax had already been paid on the design element. The Supreme Court held that payments of service tax and of value added tax are mutually exclusive, so in a composite contract the value attributable to the service component cannot also be subjected to sales tax, and the two levies must attach to distinct parts of the transaction. Double taxation of the same value is impermissible.
What to do about it: For Chennai agencies, printers and works contractors, the goods and service components of a composite contract should be clearly valued in the agreement and the invoice so that only one tax attaches to each element of value.
11th GST Council Meeting, New Delhi — 4 March 2017 (PIB Release ID 1483622) · 2017-03-04
The Council approved the draft CGST and IGST Bills as vetted by the Law Ministry, clearing them for introduction in Parliament. The approved design provided for State-wise single registration, a single State-wise return covering intra-State, inter-State and export supplies, registration exemption below Rs 20 lakh turnover (Rs 10 lakh in Special Category States), a composition scheme up to Rs 50 lakh, broad input tax credit entitlement, and cross-utilisation of credit between CGST, SGST, UTGST and IGST in a prescribed order.
What it means for you: The structural features a Chennai business deals with every day, from one GSTIN per State to the credit set-off order, were locked in at this meeting.
Notification No. 11/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated 28.06.2017 · 2017-06-28
This is the parent notification that fixes the CGST rate for services. It runs as a long table arranged by service accounting code, from construction and works contract under heading 9954, through accommodation, restaurant and transport services, to the residual entry that taxes any service not specifically listed. Many entries carry conditions, most commonly a lower rate available only if input tax credit is not taken. Every later services rate change since 2017 has been an amendment to this notification.
Why this matters: Whenever you are asked what rate applies to a service you supply in Chennai, the answer starts and ends with the current amended text of Notification 11/2017.
