GST Refund RFD-01 in Kotturpuram does not have to mean portal errors, guesswork and due-date tension. For a fixed fee starting Rs.4,999, an accountable Chennai practice prepares, reconciles, reviews and files — and remains answerable long after the acknowledgement arrives.
We serve businesses on and around 1st Loop Street — document pickup, in-person consultation at our Porur office, or fully online over WhatsApp.
Share your number — a senior GST consultant calls you back within 30 minutes.
Every locality in Chennai has its own commercial rhythm, and Kotturpuram is no exception. Kotturpuram, on the south bank of the Adyar around the Anna Centenary Library and the Housing Board blocks, is a professionals' quarter: independent consultants, architects, tutors and clinics work along Gandhi Mandapam Road and the numbered Main Roads. Many consultants billing from home offices cross the Rs.20 lakh services threshold quietly, and those serving overseas clients need a live LUT before invoicing exports without IGST. Our practice has shaped its GST Refund RFD-01 work around exactly these realities, serving clients in Kotturpuram as well as Adyar and Nandanam. Registrations, returns, refunds and notice replies are handled by one accountable team, with fees fixed in writing before work begins and every filing reconciled against portal data before it is submitted.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
GSTR-1 requires four-digit HSN reporting for turnover up to Rs.5 crore and six digits above it, and a wrong code often means a wrong rate. We verify the classification of what you actually supply, so your invoices and returns rest on defensible codes.
If your GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B start drifting apart, if a large supplier stops filing, or if your turnover approaches the e-invoice threshold, we flag it to you immediately. Early warnings from our side are cheaper than departmental letters later.
When an ADT-01 audit intimation or a personal hearing date arrives, we compile the records, prepare the reconciliations and draft the submissions, and coordinate closely with your authorised representative. You walk into the proceeding prepared, not improvising in front of an officer.
You deal with one accountable person who knows your business, your turnover pattern and your filing history. No repeating your story to a new voice every month, and no file falling between two desks when a deadline is approaching.
We work with Chennai GST ranges and circles every week, including the jurisdiction covering Kotturpuram. We know how local proper officers examine registrations, what supporting documents they routinely call for, and how to present a file so it moves without repeated queries.
Your cash ledger, credit ledger and liability register are reviewed regularly, not just at filing time. Excess balances are flagged for use or refund, and where a genuine slip surfaces, a voluntary payment through DRC-03 settles it before it can mature into a notice.
We identify the correct refund category, confirm the two-year limitation from the relevant date, and compute the admissible amount using the formula prescribed under the rules.
Invoices, shipping bills, FIRCs, the LUT and ledger extracts are compiled into the prescribed statements, and gaps that commonly cause deficiency memos are fixed upfront.
The refund application is filed on the portal with all annexures and declarations, and the acknowledgement in RFD-02 is tracked within the statutory fifteen days.
We respond to any deficiency memo in RFD-03 or show cause notice in RFD-08, appear through written submissions, and pursue provisional refund where the category permits.
We track the sanction order in RFD-06 and payment advice in RFD-05, confirm the credit in your validated bank account, and archive the complete claim file.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: Application filed in 3-5 working days; sanction typically within 60 days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.
Filed returns, challans, reconciliations and working papers are archived in order from day one. If an audit or departmental verification comes, your file is ready the same week, not assembled in a panic.
When a business winds up, proper cancellation and a timely final return ensure the file is genuinely closed, so no demand or late-fee computation resurfaces against you long after the shutters came down.
Getting IGST versus CGST and SGST right at the invoice stage spares you the painful cycle of paying the correct head again and pursuing a refund of the amount paid under the wrong one.
Your billing staff are guided on invoice fields, rates and series discipline, so mistakes are prevented where they originate — at the counter — instead of being repaired later in the returns.
Because monthly data is reconciled as it happens, GSTR-9 preparation before the 31 December due date becomes a review exercise rather than a painful reconstruction of twelve untidy months.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Registration and amendments | Query-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify. | Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations. |
| Input tax credit | Purchase register matched against GSTR-2B each period, with defaulting suppliers chased so eligible credit is actually captured. | Credit claimed from books alone; mismatches with GSTR-2B mean lost credit or excess claims that invite departmental queries. |
| Refund claims | RFD-01 filed with complete statements and annexures, tracked from ARN to bank credit, with any deficiency memo answered promptly. | Incomplete claims bounce back as deficiency memos while the refund sits unclaimed for months and working capital stays blocked. |
| Record keeping | Every return, challan, acknowledgement and working paper archived in an organised folder, retrievable in minutes years later. | Documents scattered across email, downloads and old phones; assembling records for a bank or an audit takes days. |
| Risk of notices | GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciled before filing, removing the mismatches that trigger most scrutiny notices. | Inconsistent figures across returns quietly build a mismatch history that surfaces later as ASMT-10 scrutiny or a demand notice. |
| When a notice arrives | A professional drafts the reply in the department's format and files it within the statutory window, such as thirty days for ASMT-11. | You face departmental language alone, and a missed reply deadline can convert a simple query into a demand with penalty. |

Circular No. 147/03/2021-GST dated 12 March 2021 · 2021-03-12
CBIC modified paragraph 41 of the master refund circular so that the recipient of deemed export supplies is no longer barred from availing input tax credit on the invoices for which he claims refund, since the portal in any case requires him to debit an equal amount from the credit ledger. It also extended the relaxation for exporters who wrongly declared zero-rated supplies in Table 3.1(a) of GSTR-3B instead of Table 3.1(b), and clarified that the cap introduced by Notification No. 16/2020-Central Tax, which limits the turnover of zero-rated supply of goods to 1.5 times the value of like goods supplied domestically, applies equally when computing adjusted total turnover in the denominator of the rule 89(4) refund formula.
What to do about it: Buyers from EOUs and advance-authorisation holders in Chennai can now claim both credit and refund, and the same capped export value must be used in the numerator and the denominator of the refund formula.
Notification No. 09/2017-Integrated Tax (Rate) dated 28.06.2017 · 2017-06-28
The integrated tax equivalent of the services exemption list. Besides mirroring the domestic exemptions, it carries entries that only arise in a cross-border context, such as services received from a provider located in a non-taxable territory by specified recipients, and certain services relating to transportation of goods to a place outside India. Courts have relied on its Entry 13, covering renting of residential dwellings for use as residence, when deciding hostel and long-stay accommodation disputes.
How we apply it: Chennai exporters and importers of services should check this notification before assuming an inter-State or cross-border service is taxable.
Premier Sales Promotion (P) Ltd v. Union of India — Karnataka High Court, 2023 · 2023-01-16
A company procuring and supplying prepaid vouchers, gift cards and e-vouchers to corporate clients was held liable to GST by the AAR and AAAR. The Karnataka High Court reversed, holding that vouchers are in the nature of pre-deposit instruments or actionable claims — a means of payment for future supplies — and their mere trading is neither a supply of goods nor of services, so no GST is payable on the voucher itself. CBIC later clarified voucher taxation consistently with this position.
How we apply it: Businesses running gift card and reward programmes should tax the underlying redemption supply, not the voucher transaction, and review past assessments in light of this ruling.
