Trade Profile and GST Jurisdiction for Aadhimoolam Street, Pozhichalur

GST does not distinguish between a large showroom and a small service unit — the due dates and matching systems apply equally to both. Pozhichalur sits behind Pammal on the Cowl Bazaar road network, a temple-and-workshop pocket where provision stores, hardware shops, tailoring and leather job-work units, flat promoters and paying-guest hostels for airport staff share space along Dr. Ambedkar Road, Kalaignar Road and the Anna Nagar - Pozhichalur Link Road. Small traders drift in and out of the forty lakh threshold, and job workers face persistent classification and input tax credit reversal queries. That is why our GST Refund RFD-01 engagements in Pozhichalur follow the same discipline whatever the client's size: written checklists, reconciliation before filing and every acknowledgement archived. Businesses from Pammal and Anakaputhur run on the same process, entirely over WhatsApp if they prefer.

GST jurisdiction for Pozhichalur (PIN 600074): businesses here generally fall under the CGST Chennai Outer Commissionerate. We regularly represent clients from Pozhichalur before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and notice hearings, and can confirm your exact division and range from your GSTIN. State-jurisdiction cases are handled with the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department.
GST for Professional Services Firms in Pozhichalur
Professional firms bill at 18 percent, but the mechanics differ by profession: services of advocates to business entities are taxed in the client's hands under reverse charge, while chartered accountants, company secretaries and architects charge tax on their own invoices. Fees received in advance are taxable on receipt, and retainers must be invoiced within the time limits of Section 31(2). Amounts recovered from clients as a pure agent, such as government fees paid on their behalf, stay outside taxable value only if every condition of Rule 33 is met and documented. A specialist sets up retainer invoicing, pure agent documentation and branch cross-charges correctly; call +91 - 9600 606 444 to discuss your firm.
The cost of GST Refund RFD-01 in Pozhichalur starts at Rs.4,999 as a fixed professional fee quoted upfront, with any government fees shown separately and no hidden additions later.
Why Us

Why Aadhimoolam Street, Pozhichalur Businesses Choose ChennaiGST

Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.

Handholding for First-Time Registrants

A new GSTIN comes with obligations nobody explains at approval — the invoice series rules, displaying the registration certificate and GSTIN at your premises, and the first return cycle. We walk new registrants in Pozhichalur through each of these so month one starts correctly.

Clean Exits When a Business Closes

Winding up attracts its own GST obligations — the cancellation application, reversal of credit on closing stock, and the final return in GSTR-10 within three months. We close registrations properly so a business you shut in Pozhichalur never writes back to you as a demand years later.

A Real Local Office You Can Walk Into

We are a Chennai firm with a physical office, not a faceless portal. If you prefer to sit across a table with your papers, you are welcome. Clients from Pozhichalur regularly visit us for registrations, notice discussions and annual return reviews.

Support Through Audits and Hearings

When an ADT-01 audit intimation or a personal hearing date arrives, we compile the records, prepare the reconciliations and draft the submissions, and coordinate closely with your authorised representative. You walk into the proceeding prepared, not improvising in front of an officer.

E-Invoice and E-Way Bill Fluency

E-invoicing is mandatory once turnover crosses Rs.5 crore and e-way bills apply to goods movements above Rs.50,000. We set up, train and troubleshoot both systems, so your despatches from Pozhichalur are never held up by a compliance gap at the gate.

Cancelled GSTIN? We Handle Revocation Too

A registration cancelled for non-filing is not the end of the road. We bring the pending returns up to date, clear the dues and file the revocation application in REG-21 within the permitted window, restoring suspended and cancelled GSTINs to active status.

How It Works

Our GST Refund Process

Eligibility and computation

We identify the correct refund category, confirm the two-year limitation from the relevant date, and compute the admissible amount using the formula prescribed under the rules.

Document compilation

Invoices, shipping bills, FIRCs, the LUT and ledger extracts are compiled into the prescribed statements, and gaps that commonly cause deficiency memos are fixed upfront.

RFD-01 filing

The refund application is filed on the portal with all annexures and declarations, and the acknowledgement in RFD-02 is tracked within the statutory fifteen days.

Departmental follow-up

We respond to any deficiency memo in RFD-03 or show cause notice in RFD-08, appear through written submissions, and pursue provisional refund where the category permits.

Sanction and credit

We track the sanction order in RFD-06 and payment advice in RFD-05, confirm the credit in your validated bank account, and archive the complete claim file.

Outcomes

What You Get

Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.

Credit Notes That Actually Reduce Your Tax

Sales returns, discounts and price revisions are adjusted through properly reported credit notes within the statutory window, so you never keep paying tax on turnover you have already reversed.

Annual Returns Without the Year-End Scramble

Because monthly data is reconciled as it happens, GSTR-9 preparation before the 31 December due date becomes a review exercise rather than a painful reconstruction of twelve untidy months.

Notices Answered Within the Time Limit

Statutory windows such as thirty days for an ASMT-11 reply are tracked from the day a notice arrives, so responses go in on time, complete, and with your best case properly presented.

Clarity on What You Actually Owe

Each period you receive a simple computation showing output tax, credit utilised and net cash payable, so GST becomes a number you understand and question rather than a figure you accept blindly.

Time Back for Your Actual Business

The hours you or your accountant spent wrestling with the portal, JSON errors and reconciliations every month return to sales, operations and customers, while trained hands manage the compliance in the background.

Marketplace Accounts That Stay Live

E-commerce platforms continuously validate seller GSTINs and filing status. A consistently compliant registration keeps your listings active and settlements flowing, with no sudden suspension of your online sales channel.

Why a Specialist Matters

With ChennaiGST vs Doing It Yourself

AspectWith ChennaiGSTDIY / Unattended
Portal credentials and dataLogins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward.Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data.
Refund claimsRFD-01 filed with complete statements and annexures, tracked from ARN to bank credit, with any deficiency memo answered promptly.Incomplete claims bounce back as deficiency memos while the refund sits unclaimed for months and working capital stays blocked.
Input tax creditPurchase register matched against GSTR-2B each period, with defaulting suppliers chased so eligible credit is actually captured.Credit claimed from books alone; mismatches with GSTR-2B mean lost credit or excess claims that invite departmental queries.
Time costRoughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours.Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself.
Record keepingEvery return, challan, acknowledgement and working paper archived in an organised folder, retrievable in minutes years later.Documents scattered across email, downloads and old phones; assembling records for a bank or an audit takes days.
Late fees and interestFilings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise.Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum.

Circular

A nil refund claim filed by mistake can be filed again

Circular No. 110/29/2019-GST dated 3 October 2019 · 2019-10-03

Many taxpayers had inadvertently filed a nil refund application for a period and category even though they had a genuine claim, and the portal then blocked any fresh claim for that period. CBIC allowed such applicants to file a fresh refund application for the same period and category, subject to two conditions: the earlier nil claim must have been filed for that period under that category, and no refund claim under that category must have been filed for any subsequent period.

Practical effect: A nil claim entered by mistake is not fatal, but the correction must be made before you file a claim for a later period in the same category.

Portal Advisory

Refund claims move to invoice-based filing without chronological periods

GSTN Advisory dated 8 May 2025 — changes in the refund filing process on the portal · 2025-05-08

GSTN removed the requirement to select a refund period in chronological order for certain refund categories, so a claim need not follow strict sequence, and moved those categories to invoice-based filing. For export of services with payment of tax, supplies to special economic zone units with payment of tax, and deemed export claims by the supplier, the applicant uploads the specific invoices in the relevant statement and those invoices are then locked against a repeat claim. All returns due up to the date of the claim must be filed.

How we apply it: Keep returns current and your export invoice register clean, since refunds are now claimed invoice by invoice and each invoice can be used only once.

GST Council

GST on fertilisers cut to five per cent on the eve of rollout

18th GST Council Meeting, New Delhi — 30 June 2017 (Signed Minutes, Agenda Item 3) · 2017-06-30

Meeting on the day GST was launched, the Council revisited the rate on fertilisers. Officers calculated the pre-GST incidence at about 9.75 per cent, placing fertilisers between the five and twelve per cent slabs. After almost every State supported relief for farmers, the Chairperson recorded a consensus and the Council agreed to tax fertilisers at five per cent instead of twelve, notwithstanding the inverted duty refund burden this would create for manufacturers whose inputs were taxed at eighteen per cent.

What to do about it: The Council reopened a rate it had already fixed only weeks earlier, and the cut created the inverted duty structure that fertiliser dealers still claim refunds under.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers from practising GST consultants — based on the CGST Act, current CBIC notifications and day-to-day portal experience.

What documents are required for GST refund RFD-01 in Pozhichalur?
For GST refund RFD-01 you will generally need: Export invoices and shipping bills, for export refund claims, FIRC or bank realisation certificates for export proceeds, Copy of LUT filed in RFD-11, for exports without payment of tax, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filed copies for the claim period, GSTR-2B and purchase invoices supporting input tax credit. The exact list depends on your constitution — proprietorship, partnership, LLP or company — and on the specifics of your case. Send what you have on WhatsApp to +91 - 9600 606 444 and we will confirm within the same working day exactly what else is needed, so nothing is rejected later for a missing paper.
Are there any hidden charges for GST refund RFD-01?
No. The fee quoted before we start is the fee you pay. Government fees, portal charges or statutory late fees, where they apply, are separate and disclosed to you in advance with the exact amount. We issue a proper GST invoice for our professional fee. If the scope of work changes — for example, an unexpected notice or additional periods — we tell you the revised fee before doing anything further.
What documents do I need to attach with a GST refund application?
The documents depend on the refund category. Export refunds under LUT need a statement of invoices with corresponding shipping bill numbers and dates, or FIRC and BRC for service exports. Inverted duty claims need statements of inward and outward supplies with the Rule 89(5) computation. All claims need a declaration that the tax incidence has not been passed on, and claims above Rs.2 lakh require a certificate from a chartered accountant or cost accountant in certain cases. Uploads are limited on the portal, so annexures must be prepared compactly. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 for a category-wise checklist.
I received a deficiency memo RFD-03 against my refund claim. What should I do?
A deficiency memo in RFD-03 means the officer found your application incomplete, and the application is treated as not filed. You cannot reply to an RFD-03; you must file a fresh RFD-01 after curing the defects, and the debited ITC or cash is re-credited to your ledger. Importantly, the fresh application must still fall within the original two-year limitation, so act quickly. Read the memo carefully, fix every listed deficiency, and refile with a covering note. Businesses in Pozhichalur that receive repeated memos usually have invoice statement formatting issues that are easy to correct professionally.
I export goods after paying IGST. How do I get that tax back?
For export of goods with payment of IGST, no separate RFD-01 is needed. The shipping bill filed with customs is itself treated as the refund application once you file GSTR-1 with correct shipping bill details in Table 6A and pay the tax through GSTR-3B. Customs matches the data from the GST portal with ICEGATE and credits the refund directly to your bank account. Most delays happen because of invoice mismatches between GSTR-1 and the shipping bill, or bank account validation errors, so reconcile both before filing each month.
I charged CGST and SGST on an invoice that should have carried IGST. How do I fix it?
The law provides a clean remedy without interest. Under Section 77 of the CGST Act and Section 19 of the IGST Act, where a supply was wrongly treated as intra-state instead of inter-state or vice versa, you pay the tax under the correct head and claim refund of the tax paid under the wrong head; no interest is charged on the correct payment. Rule 89(1A) allows the refund application within two years from the date the correct tax is paid. Issue a credit note and corrected invoice, amend GSTR-1, and file RFD-01 under the appropriate category. Our Pozhichalur team handles these head-swap corrections regularly; call +91 - 9600 606 444 before the limitation runs.
I deposited extra money in my GST cash ledger by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes. Excess balance lying in the electronic cash ledger can be claimed back by filing RFD-01 under the category refund of excess balance in electronic cash ledger. This is one of the simplest refund types because no invoice statements are required; the portal auto-populates the ledger balance and you simply select the amount and the bank account for credit. This commonly happens when tax is deposited under the wrong head, for example CGST instead of IGST. Businesses in Pozhichalur facing this issue can call +91 - 9600 606 444 and the claim can usually be filed the same day.
How long does a GST refund take after filing RFD-01?
The proper officer must issue the final refund order in RFD-06 within sixty days of receiving a complete application. For zero-rated supplies such as exports, a provisional refund of ninety percent of the claim is to be granted within seven days of the acknowledgement, subject to conditions. If the refund is delayed beyond sixty days, interest is payable to you on the refund amount. In practice, clean documentation and prompt replies to any query in RFD-08 decide the actual speed. Exporters in Pozhichalur typically see credits faster when GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and shipping data reconcile perfectly.
Can my company claim ITC on a car purchased for business use, and what about its insurance and repairs?
Generally no. Section 17(5)(a) blocks credit on motor vehicles for transporting persons with approved seating up to thirteen including the driver, even when used for business, unless you are in the business of further supplying such vehicles, transporting passengers, or imparting driver training. Section 17(5)(ab) extends the block to insurance, servicing and repairs of such vehicles. However, ITC is fully available on goods transport vehicles like trucks and delivery vans, and on vehicles with seating above thirteen such as staff buses. A Pozhichalur trading company buying a delivery van claims full credit; the director's sedan gets none. Classify each vehicle before claiming.
I pay franchise fees for my food brand outlet. Can I claim credit of the GST charged on royalty?
Usually not. Franchise fees and royalty attract 18% GST charged by the franchisor, but a restaurant paying tax at 5% under the no-credit scheme cannot claim any input tax credit, including on franchise fees, rent and equipment. That 18% therefore becomes a pure cost and should be factored into your menu pricing and franchise negotiations. Only restaurants in specified premises hotels charging 18% with credit can absorb it through ITC. Before signing a franchise agreement for an outlet in Pozhichalur, have the GST cost modelled properly; the difference changes outlet economics significantly. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 for a working.
How are B2B and B2C invoices reported differently in GST returns?
B2B invoices, meaning supplies to registered buyers, are reported invoice by invoice in Table 4 of GSTR-1 with the buyer's GSTIN, so each one flows into that buyer's GSTR-2B for credit. B2C supplies are split into two streams: large inter-state invoices above the threshold are reported invoice-wise in Table 5, while all remaining B2C sales are reported as consolidated, rate-wise totals per state in Table 7. This is why capturing the buyer's GSTIN correctly at billing matters so much; an invoice keyed as B2C by a cashier gives the registered buyer no credit and triggers correction requests later.
Is GST applicable on rent for my shop or office premises?
Yes. Renting of commercial property such as shops, offices, godowns and industrial sheds is a taxable supply of services at 18 percent, charged by the landlord under forward charge once the landlord's aggregate turnover, including this rent, crosses Rs.20 lakh. The tenant, if registered and using the premises for business, can claim the GST as input tax credit, since renting is not a blocked credit. Landlords with several small commercial properties often cross the threshold without realising it, because rent from all properties on the same PAN is clubbed. A yearly turnover check protects against retrospective demands.
Which daily-use grocery items became cheaper under GST from September 2025?
The 56th GST Council's rationalisation, effective 22 September 2025, moved a large basket of daily essentials from 12% or 18% down to 5%, including butter, ghee, cheese, namkeens, sauces, pasta, chocolates, biscuits, cornflakes, hair oil, shampoo, soaps and toothpaste. UHT milk, pre-packaged paneer and all Indian breads such as roti, chapati and paratha became nil rated. Aerated and caffeinated beverages, by contrast, went to the 40% demerit rate. Grocery and supermarket billing masters needed a near-complete refresh from that date, and old stock is simply sold at the new rate applicable on the date of supply.
Are any goods exempt from GST when transported by a GTA?
Yes. Transport by a GTA of agricultural produce, milk, salt and foodgrains including flours and pulses, organic manure, newspapers and magazines registered with the Registrar of Newspapers, relief materials for victims of calamities, and defence or military equipment is exempt regardless of freight value. Note that the older exemptions for small consignments, Rs.1,500 for a full truckload and Rs.750 for a single consignee, were withdrawn with effect from 18 July 2022, so ordinary cargo enjoys no value-based relief now. Transporters serving agricultural markets should describe the produce accurately on the consignment note to support the exemption.
Something is malfunctioning on the GST portal. How do I raise a formal grievance ticket?
Use the GST Self-Service Grievance Redressal Portal at selfservice.gstsystem.in. Select Report Issue, type a keyword describing the problem, and the system suggests the matching category along with FAQs; if those do not resolve it, proceed to raise the ticket by entering your GSTIN or ARN, contact details and a description, and attach screenshots of the error. A ticket reference number is issued instantly by email and SMS. Raising a ticket also creates a record that the failure was on the system side, which helps later if a deadline was missed because of a portal outage. Our Pozhichalur office logs tickets for clients as part of retainer support.
Is GST still charged on health insurance premiums?
Not on individual policies. With effect from 22 September 2025, premiums on all individual life insurance policies and individual health insurance policies, including family floater and senior citizen plans, are exempt from GST, along with their reinsurance. Earlier these attracted 18 percent, so the change directly reduces the premium outgo for households. Group policies taken by businesses for employees continue to be taxable, and the input tax credit position on such group covers still depends on whether the cover is statutorily obligatory. When renewing policies, check that the insurer has passed on the exemption rather than merely repricing the premium.
How do I document free samples and gifts given to customers?
Goods supplied genuinely free of cost to unrelated persons are not a supply, so no tax invoice is raised and no GST is charged; the movement is covered by a delivery challan marked as free samples. The cost is that input tax credit on those goods must be reversed. Two traps deserve care: gifts to related persons or between distinct GSTINs of the same PAN are taxable under Schedule I even without consideration, and promotional schemes like buy one get one are treated as a single price for two items, taxed normally with credit intact. Structure your Pozhichalur promotions with this distinction in mind.
What is the GST rate for restaurants and food delivery now?
Standalone restaurants, eateries and cloud kitchens charge 5 percent GST without input tax credit. Restaurants located in hotels where the room tariff exceeds Rs.7,500 per day fall in the specified premises category and charge 18 percent with input tax credit. Food ordered through e-commerce operators such as Swiggy and Zomato is taxed at 5 percent, with the platform liable to pay the tax on restaurant services supplied through it. A restaurant in Pozhichalur paying 5 percent must remember that GST on its rent, gas and equipment purchases becomes a cost, since credit is barred.
How much does GST refund RFD-01 cost in Pozhichalur?
Our fee for GST refund RFD-01 in Pozhichalur starts at Rs.4,999 and is quoted in full before we begin — there are no hidden charges added later. The fee covers professional work end to end: document review, preparation, filing and follow-up until completion. Government fees or portal charges, where applicable, are separate and always shown to you upfront. For an exact quote based on your turnover and business type, call +91 - 9600 606 444 and a consultant will confirm it on the call.
Do you provide GST refund RFD-01 for businesses on Aadhimoolam Street?
Yes. We serve businesses on and around Aadhimoolam Street in Pozhichalur — shops, offices, godowns and home-run businesses alike. Document pickup can be arranged at your premises, or you can send everything on WhatsApp and complete GST refund without leaving your counter. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 and mention your location; a consultant will confirm the fee and timeline immediately.
What is the process for GST refund RFD-01?
The process runs in clear stages: Eligibility and computation; Document compilation; RFD-01 filing; Departmental follow-up. A senior consultant reviews your file at each stage rather than passing it to a data-entry desk, and you receive a confirmation with the filed documents once it is complete. You always know which stage your work is at — we update you on WhatsApp instead of leaving you to follow up.
