Trade Profile and GST Jurisdiction for 60 Feet Road Annanur Railway Station Road, Thirumullaivoyal

Thirumullaivoyal spreads either side of the Chennai-Tiruttani (CTH) Road between Ambattur Industrial Estate and Avadi, with the Masilamaniswarar temple at its core and Tirumullaivoyal Road, Pallavan Main Road and Thirukkural Main Road lined with hardware, electrical and textile shops, while machining and auto-component job-work sheds feed the Ambattur estate. Job workers here face ITC-04 and delivery challan compliance, and CTH Road traders meet frequent e-way bill verification. When businesses of this kind evaluate GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B Monthly Filing, the real question is not price alone but who answers when something goes wrong. We serve Thirumullaivoyal, Ambattur and Avadi on a standing commitment: responses within the same working day, senior scrutiny before every submission, and continued support if the department ever writes back on work carrying our preparation.

GST jurisdiction for Thirumullaivoyal (PIN 600062): businesses here generally fall under the CGST Chennai Outer Commissionerate. We regularly represent clients from Thirumullaivoyal before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and notice hearings, and can confirm your exact division and range from your GSTIN. State-jurisdiction cases are handled with the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department.
GST for Hardware and Electrical Dealers in Thirumullaivoyal
A hardware and electrical counter stocks thousands of SKUs whose rates have moved: cement fell from 28 to 18 percent under the September 2025 rationalisation, while wires, switchgear, paints and sanitaryware sit at 18 percent. When a rate changes, Section 14 decides which rate applies based on the dates of supply, invoice and payment, so transition-period billing needs care. Dealer schemes and cash discounts from manufacturers arrive as credit notes that must be tracked against your input credit. A specialist maintains an item-wise HSN and rate master, applies Section 14 correctly during rate changes, and reconciles supplier credit notes so your GSTR-2B never overstates credit.
You can move your GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B Monthly Filing to a new consultant in Thirumullaivoyal at any time mid-year; past filings are reviewed, pending items are regularised, and ongoing fees start at Rs.749.
Why Us

Why 60 Feet Road Annanur Railway Station Road, Thirumullaivoyal Businesses Choose ChennaiGST

Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.

✓

No Handing Off to Untrained Juniors

Your work is executed by trained GST staff working under direct senior supervision, not passed to interns learning on your file. The person preparing your return understands reverse charge, blocked credits and place of supply, because getting these wrong costs you money.

✓

E-Commerce Seller Reconciliation, Including TCS

Sellers on Amazon, Flipkart and other marketplaces face a three-way match between marketplace reports, GSTR-1 and the TCS the operator deposits against your GSTIN. We reconcile all three every period and accept the TCS credit, so sellers in Thirumullaivoyal never leave marketplace deductions unclaimed.

✓

Free Health Check of Your Past Filings

Every new client receives a review of their recent returns before we file anything — unclaimed credit, GSTR-1 versus GSTR-3B drift, and exposures worth correcting quietly. Businesses in Thirumullaivoyal often discover in this first review exactly why their previous arrangement was costing them money.

✓

QRMP Managed Properly, Not Just Opted Into

Quarterly filing still demands monthly attention — IFF uploads so your buyers see their credit on time, and tax payment through PMT-06 by the 25th for the first two months of each quarter. We run that monthly rhythm so QRMP saves you effort without creating gaps.

✓

Waiver and Amnesty Windows Applied for You

Whenever the GST Council notifies a late-fee waiver or an amnesty window for pending returns or old demands, we check every client's history against it and act within the deadline. Relief that businesses in Thirumullaivoyal would otherwise read about after it lapsed reaches our clients in time.

✓

Proactive Alerts Before Problems Become Notices

If your GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B start drifting apart, if a large supplier stops filing, or if your turnover approaches the e-invoice threshold, we flag it to you immediately. Early warnings from our side are cheaper than departmental letters later.

How It Works

Our Monthly Returns Process

Monthly data collection

At month end we remind you and collect sales invoices, purchase bills and credit notes in whatever format you maintain, including Excel, Tally exports or scanned copies.

GSTR-1 preparation and filing

We prepare invoice-wise outward supply details, validate GSTINs of your B2B customers, summarise B2C supplies and file GSTR-1 on the portal before the 11th.

ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2B

We download your auto-drafted GSTR-2B, match it against purchase records, and claim only eligible input tax credit so that mismatches do not trigger scrutiny notices later.

Tax computation and confirmation

We compute net tax payable after ITC set-off, share the working with you for approval, and generate the payment challan for any cash liability.

GSTR-3B filing and reporting

After your confirmation and tax payment, we file GSTR-3B before the 20th and send you both filed acknowledgements along with a one-page summary of the month.

Outcomes

What You Get

Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.

★

Tax Paid Under the Right Head

Getting IGST versus CGST and SGST right at the invoice stage spares you the painful cycle of paying the correct head again and pursuing a refund of the amount paid under the wrong one.

★

Every Eligible Rupee of ITC Claimed

Systematic GSTR-2B matching and supplier follow-up mean input tax credit that was leaking away under self-filing is captured each month, directly reducing the cash you pay out with every GSTR-3B.

★

Lower Total Cost of Compliance

A fixed professional fee is almost always cheaper than the combination of late fees, interest, lost credit and staff hours that informal, last-minute compliance quietly accumulates over a year.

★

Annual Returns Without the Year-End Scramble

Because monthly data is reconciled as it happens, GSTR-9 preparation before the 31 December due date becomes a review exercise rather than a painful reconstruction of twelve untidy months.

★

Compliance That Continues When You Travel

Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.

★

A Professional Face on Every Invoice

Correct, complete tax invoices signal a well-run business to customers, vendors and banks alike, quietly strengthening your credibility in every transaction where your paperwork is seen.

Why a Specialist Matters

With ChennaiGST vs Doing It Yourself

AspectWith ChennaiGSTDIY / Unattended
Supplier defaultsSuppliers who stop uploading invoices are identified within the period and pursued before their default becomes your blocked credit.Missing supplier invoices surface only when credit is denied, by which time recovering the amount from the vendor is difficult.
Due-date trackingA maintained compliance calendar with internal cut-offs days before the 11th and the 20th; we chase you for data, not the other way around.Deadlines remembered from memory or phone alarms; one busy week and the return slips past the due date.
Refund claimsRFD-01 filed with complete statements and annexures, tracked from ARN to bank credit, with any deficiency memo answered promptly.Incomplete claims bounce back as deficiency memos while the refund sits unclaimed for months and working capital stays blocked.
Late fees and interestFilings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise.Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum.
Keeping up with changesRate changes, portal updates and new thresholds such as the Rs.5 crore e-invoice limit are tracked by us and applied to your case proactively.Changes are discovered after the fact — often through a rejected filing, a blocked e-way bill or a departmental letter.
Time costRoughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours.Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself.

From Our Law Desk

Recent Developments in GST — relevant to Thirumullaivoyal businesses

Selected notifications, Council decisions and court rulings that practising consultants are applying to live cases.

GST Council

Cancer drugs cut to 5 per cent; namkeens and savoury snacks cut to 12 per cent

54th GST Council Meeting, New Delhi — 9 September 2024 · 2024-09-09

The Council reduced GST on three cancer drugs — Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, Osimertinib and Durvalumab — from 12 per cent to 5 per cent. Extruded or expanded savoury snacks and namkeens were cut from 18 per cent to 12 per cent prospectively, aligning them with similar ready-to-eat namkeens, while un-fried snack pellets stayed at 5 per cent. The Council also brought roof-mounted package unit (RMPU) air conditioning machines for railways under 28 per cent and moved car seats from 18 per cent to 28 per cent.

How we apply it: Snack manufacturers and distributors in Chennai should apply 12 per cent prospectively from the notification date, keeping evidence of the cut-off for past-period disputes.

Circular

Clarification on when vehicle hire attracts reverse charge

Circular No. 130/49/2019-GST dated 31.12.2019 · 2019-12-31

CBIC explained the scope of the reverse charge entry on renting of motor vehicles. It clarified that the entry applies where the supplier is any person other than a body corporate who pays tax at 5 per cent, supplies the service to a body corporate, and does not issue an invoice charging tax at 12 per cent with full input tax credit. Where the supplier is itself a body corporate, or charges 12 per cent, the recipient has no reverse charge liability.

Practical effect: Chennai companies should obtain a written confirmation of the rate and constitution of their cab operator, since that single fact decides who pays the tax.

Notification

Amnesty capping late fee on all pending GSTR-3B from July 2017

Notification No. 19/2021-Central Tax · 2021-06-01

For the tax periods July 2017 to April 2021 the late fee on GSTR-3B was capped at Rs 1,000 per return, being Rs 500 each under the central and State laws, and at Rs 500 per return where the return was a nil return. The concession applied to returns furnished between 1 June 2021 and 31 August 2021. The same notification rationalised the late fee prospectively from June 2021, capping it at Rs 500 for nil returns, Rs 2,000 where turnover is up to Rs 1.5 crore, Rs 5,000 where turnover is between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 5 crore, and leaving the normal Rs 10,000 ceiling for turnover above Rs 5 crore.

What to do about it: This scheme let a Chennai business clear four years of pending returns for a few thousand rupees, and it also fixed the low late fee ceilings that small taxpayers still enjoy today.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers from practising GST consultants — based on the CGST Act, current CBIC notifications and day-to-day portal experience.

Is there a GST consultant near Thirumullaivoyal for gst return filing?
Yes. We serve Thirumullaivoyal and the surrounding areas from our office at Porur, Chennai - 600 116, Tamil Nadu, and most monthly returns work is completed online — you send documents on WhatsApp and we handle the portal work. If you prefer in-person help, we offer doorstep document pickup across Thirumullaivoyal and you are welcome to visit our office. Reach us on +91 - 9600 606 444 between 9 AM and 8 PM, Monday to Saturday.
Which GST office handles Thirumullaivoyal businesses?
Businesses in Thirumullaivoyal (PIN 600062) generally fall under the CGST Chennai Outer Commissionerate, with state-jurisdiction cases handled by the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department. Your exact division and range can be confirmed from your GSTIN on the GST portal. We regularly appear before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and hearings, so we know the local practice and documentation preferences.
My shop was closed for a month. Can I skip filing GST returns for that period?
No. Once you hold an active GSTIN, returns must be filed for every tax period regardless of business activity. If there were no sales and no purchases, you must file nil GSTR-1 and nil GSTR-3B for that month. Skipping creates a break in the sequential filing chain, blocks future returns, accumulates late fees and can eventually lead to suspension of registration. Nil returns take only minutes and can even be filed by SMS. If your business in Thirumullaivoyal has periods of inactivity, ask us about our low-cost nil filing plan.
How does an ISD actually distribute credit among branches?
Distribution follows Section 20 read with Rule 39. Credit attributable to a single branch goes only to that branch; credit for common services is distributed among operational branches in the ratio of their turnover in the preceding financial year. The ISD issues an ISD invoice to each recipient GSTIN and reports the distribution in GSTR-6 by the 13th of the following month, after which the credit appears in each branch's GSTR-2B. IGST credit is distributed as IGST, while CGST and SGST credit is distributed as IGST to branches in other states. Excess distribution is recoverable from the recipient with interest, so the turnover ratios must be computed carefully each year.
Can I issue a single credit note against several invoices?
Yes. Since the amendment to Section 34 by the CGST (Amendment) Act, 2018, effective 1 February 2019, the law permits one or more credit notes to be issued against one or more tax invoices of a financial year. A distributor giving a season-end adjustment to a retailer can therefore issue one consolidated credit note covering dozens of invoices, rather than one note per bill. When reporting it in GSTR-1, the portal accepts credit notes without invoice-wise linking for this reason. Maintain a working annexed to the credit note listing the invoices covered, because in scrutiny the officer will ask you to establish the linkage and the arithmetic.
Our Thirumullaivoyal factory hires lorries through a transport agency. Who pays the GST?
Under the reverse charge entry, when a GTA that has not opted for forward charge provides service to specified recipients, the recipient pays the 5 percent tax. Specified recipients include factories, registered persons, body corporates, partnership firms including AOPs, co-operative societies and casual taxable persons. Your factory therefore pays 5 percent in cash through GSTR-3B, reports it in the reverse charge tables, and claims the same amount as input tax credit since freight is a business expense. Confirm from the transporter's invoice or declaration whether it has opted for forward charge, because paying RCM on an FCM invoice creates double taxation. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 if your freight entries need a review.
A client paid me an advance. Do I raise an invoice or something else?
On receiving an advance, you issue a receipt voucher under Rule 50, not an invoice; the tax invoice follows when the service is actually supplied. GST is payable on advances received for services in the period of receipt, and the receipt voucher documents that liability. Advances for the supply of goods are not taxed at receipt for normal taxpayers under Notification 66/2017. If the rate is not determinable when the advance arrives, tax is paid at 18 percent, and if the nature of supply is not determinable, it is treated as inter-state. Service firms in Thirumullaivoyal with retainer billing should map this into their monthly cycle.
Do I have to report HSN codes in my GSTR-1?
Yes. Taxpayers with aggregate turnover up to Rs.5 crore must report a 4-digit HSN summary for B2B supplies in Table 12 of GSTR-1, while those above Rs.5 crore must report 6-digit HSN codes for all supplies. The portal now validates HSN entries against its master list, so wrong or truncated codes can block filing. Getting HSN classification right also determines your tax rate, so it is worth a one-time review of your product list. Our team in Thirumullaivoyal maintains a verified HSN master for every client.
Why is my nil return SMS to 14409 not working?
SMS filing fails for a few common reasons. The message must come from the exact mobile number registered against an authorised signatory on the GST portal, the format must match precisely with single spaces, and all returns for earlier periods must already be filed since GST returns are sequential. It also fails if the return is not truly nil, for instance if an amendment or credit note is pending to be reported. If one number is registered for multiple GSTINs, each needs its own SMS. We can diagnose the exact reason and file it online instead.
I received an intimation in DRC-01C about ITC mismatch. How do I respond?
DRC-01C is issued under Rule 88D when the ITC claimed in your GSTR-3B exceeds the ITC available in GSTR-2B beyond the permitted limits. You must respond within seven days, either by paying the excess with interest through DRC-03 or by explaining the difference in Part B of DRC-01C, citing valid reasons such as credits of earlier periods claimed within time, reclaims after Rule 37 payment, or import ITC not flowing through 2B. Until you respond, the portal can block filing of your next GSTR-1. Do not ignore the seven-day window; call +91 - 9600 606 444 the day it arrives.
Is ITC available on food, catering and canteen expenses for our factory staff?
Section 17(5)(b) blocks credit on food, beverages and outdoor catering, but with two useful exceptions. First, where you use catering as an input for making an outward supply of the same category, such as a caterer subcontracting another caterer, credit is allowed. Second, where providing the facility is obligatory for the employer under any law, credit is allowed; the classic case is a statutory canteen required under the Factories Act for factories employing more than 250 workers. Even then, credit is typically restricted to the cost borne by the employer, not amounts recovered from employees. Factories around Thirumullaivoyal should keep the statutory obligation documented in their credit file.
What is the place of supply for freight and courier charges on goods?
For transportation of goods, including by courier, Section 12(8) fixes the place of supply as the location of the recipient where the recipient is registered. Where the recipient is unregistered, it is the location where the goods are handed over for transportation. So a registered Thirumullaivoyal manufacturer paying a transporter for a Chennai-to-Delhi movement has Tamil Nadu as the place of supply, and the RCM liability is paid as CGST plus SGST if the transporter is also in Tamil Nadu. This rule matters chiefly for paying reverse charge on GTA freight under the correct heads, because paying IGST where CGST and SGST were due creates a refund-and-repay exercise later.
Do I have to issue an invoice for every small cash sale in my shop?
Not necessarily. Where the value of a supply is less than Rs.200, the buyer is unregistered, and the buyer does not ask for an invoice, you may skip issuing an individual tax invoice. Instead, you must prepare one consolidated tax invoice at the close of each day covering all such small sales. The moment a customer demands an invoice, or the sale is Rs.200 or more, a proper invoice is required. Retail counters typically issue system receipts to every customer anyway, which is cleaner practice, but the daily consolidated invoice is the legal minimum for petty sales.
What GST rate applies to cars and two-wheelers now?
Small cars, meaning petrol cars up to 1200cc and diesel cars up to 1500cc with length not exceeding 4 metres, attract 18 percent GST, down sharply from the earlier 28 percent plus cess. Larger cars, SUVs above these specifications, attract the 40 percent rate, but with the compensation cess gone, the overall burden on most of them is still lower than before. Motorcycles up to 350cc are at 18 percent, while those above 350cc attract 40 percent. Electric vehicles continue at a concessional 5 percent. Dealers must also apply these rates to demo vehicle sales.
Are any goods exempt from GST when transported by a GTA?
Yes. Transport by a GTA of agricultural produce, milk, salt and foodgrains including flours and pulses, organic manure, newspapers and magazines registered with the Registrar of Newspapers, relief materials for victims of calamities, and defence or military equipment is exempt regardless of freight value. Note that the older exemptions for small consignments, Rs.1,500 for a full truckload and Rs.750 for a single consignee, were withdrawn with effect from 18 July 2022, so ordinary cargo enjoys no value-based relief now. Transporters serving agricultural markets should describe the produce accurately on the consignment note to support the exemption.
Can my GST registration be cancelled for not filing returns?
Yes. Under Rule 21A, the department can suspend a GSTIN where returns are not filed for a continuous period, and Section 29 permits cancellation where a regular taxpayer has not filed returns for six months (two quarters for QRMP, and a composition taxpayer defaulting on the annual return beyond three months). During suspension you cannot issue tax invoices or file returns, which freezes the business. If cancellation happens, revocation must be sought through REG-21 within 90 days after clearing all dues. If you have received a suspension notice in Thirumullaivoyal, call +91 - 9600 606 444 immediately.
What GST rate applies to a goods transport agency: 5 percent or 18 percent?
Both exist, depending on the option exercised. The default position is 5 percent payable by the specified recipient under reverse charge, with no input tax credit to the GTA. Alternatively, a GTA may opt to pay tax itself under forward charge, either at 5 percent without input tax credit or at the higher rate with full credit, which was revised from 12 percent to 18 percent with effect from 22 September 2025. The with-credit option suits transporters with large spends on vehicles and tyres. Once the forward charge option is exercised for a year, it applies to all consignments of that year.
We hire cabs monthly for employee transport in Thirumullaivoyal. Who pays the GST?
If the cab operator is not a body corporate, charges 5 percent, and your business is a body corporate, the liability shifts to you under reverse charge. The entry covers renting of motor vehicles designed to carry passengers where the cost of fuel is included in the consideration. If the operator is itself a company, or bills at the higher rate with full ITC, 18 percent since the September 2025 rate rationalisation, forward charge applies and the operator collects the tax. Remember that even after paying RCM, the ITC on employee transport in vehicles seating up to thirteen is blocked under Section 17(5) unless providing the transport is obligatory for the employer under a law.
How much does GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing cost in Thirumullaivoyal?
Our fee for GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing in Thirumullaivoyal starts at Rs.749/month and is quoted in full before we begin — there are no hidden charges added later. The fee covers professional work end to end: document review, preparation, filing and follow-up until completion. Government fees or portal charges, where applicable, are separate and always shown to you upfront. For an exact quote based on your turnover and business type, call +91 - 9600 606 444 and a consultant will confirm it on the call.
What is the process for GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing?
The process runs in clear stages: Monthly data collection; GSTR-1 preparation and filing; ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2B; Tax computation and confirmation. A senior consultant reviews your file at each stage rather than passing it to a data-entry desk, and you receive a confirmation with the filed documents once it is complete. You always know which stage your work is at — we update you on WhatsApp instead of leaving you to follow up.
Are there any hidden charges for GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing?
No. The fee quoted before we start is the fee you pay. Government fees, portal charges or statutory late fees, where they apply, are separate and disclosed to you in advance with the exact amount. We issue a proper GST invoice for our professional fee. If the scope of work changes — for example, an unexpected notice or additional periods — we tell you the revised fee before doing anything further.
