Trade Profile and GST Jurisdiction for Boja Raja Nagar Main Road, Basin Bridge

Basin Bridge sits where the Grand Northern Trunk Road, Cochrane Basin Road and the Basin Bridge Junction rail yard meet, a godown-and-transport belt feeding Sowcarpet and the Mint wholesale market with packing material, paper, hardware and chemicals. Lorry booking offices line Elephant Gate Bridge Road and North Wall Road, and the Stanley Nagar, Narasimha Nagar and Ramdass Nagar tenement blocks house the labour. Goods transport agencies here contend with reverse charge on freight, e-way bill expiry and place-of-supply disputes on interstate consignments. From a first registration to the annual return, the full range of GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B Monthly Filing is available to Basin Bridge businesses without stepping far from the shop or office — documents travel over WhatsApp, and our Chennai premises are open to anyone who prefers a face-to-face discussion. We serve Pulianthope and Korukkupet on the same footing, applying one rule everywhere: reconcile before filing, file before the due date, and keep the client informed at every stage.

GST jurisdiction for Basin Bridge (PIN 600012): businesses here generally fall under the CGST Chennai North Commissionerate. We regularly represent clients from Basin Bridge before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and notice hearings, and can confirm your exact division and range from your GSTIN. State-jurisdiction cases are handled with the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department.
GST Compliance for Retail Shops in Basin Bridge
A retail counter bills hundreds of small consumer sales a day, and GST treats them very differently from B2B trade. B2C turnover goes into GSTR-1 as consolidated rate-wise figures, exempt goods need a bill of supply instead of a tax invoice, and a mixed basket of taxable and exempt stock forces proportionate credit reversal under Rule 42. Departments now compare UPI and card settlements against declared turnover, so daily sales must reconcile with bank inflows. A specialist sets up your billing software with a verified HSN and rate master, evaluates the one percent composition option against regular filing, and keeps declared figures consistent before any mismatch query arrives.
Yes, small businesses in Basin Bridge can use professional GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B Monthly Filing affordably — fees start at Rs.749, which is usually far less than one period of late fees and lost input tax credit.
Why Us

Why Boja Raja Nagar Main Road, Basin Bridge Businesses Choose ChennaiGST

Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.

Strict Data Confidentiality

Your sales figures, supplier lists and login credentials are handled only by our engaged team, stored securely and never shared with any third party. Many of our clients in Basin Bridge compete with each other; complete confidentiality is a condition of our work.

No Handing Off to Untrained Juniors

Your work is executed by trained GST staff working under direct senior supervision, not passed to interns learning on your file. The person preparing your return understands reverse charge, blocked credits and place of supply, because getting these wrong costs you money.

Deadline Tracking Done for You

GSTR-1 by the 11th, GSTR-3B by the 20th, CMP-08 by the 18th after each quarter — we maintain a compliance calendar for every client and start chasing your data well before the due date, so late fees never enter the picture.

Cancelled GSTIN? We Handle Revocation Too

A registration cancelled for non-filing is not the end of the road. We bring the pending returns up to date, clear the dues and file the revocation application in REG-21 within the permitted window, restoring suspended and cancelled GSTINs to active status.

Notice-Proof Filing Discipline

Most GST notices trace back to mismatches between GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B. We reconcile these before filing, not after a notice arrives, so your returns are internally consistent and the most common triggers for ASMT-10 scrutiny simply never appear.

E-Commerce Seller Reconciliation, Including TCS

Sellers on Amazon, Flipkart and other marketplaces face a three-way match between marketplace reports, GSTR-1 and the TCS the operator deposits against your GSTIN. We reconcile all three every period and accept the TCS credit, so sellers in Basin Bridge never leave marketplace deductions unclaimed.

How It Works

Our Monthly Returns Process

Monthly data collection

At month end we remind you and collect sales invoices, purchase bills and credit notes in whatever format you maintain, including Excel, Tally exports or scanned copies.

GSTR-1 preparation and filing

We prepare invoice-wise outward supply details, validate GSTINs of your B2B customers, summarise B2C supplies and file GSTR-1 on the portal before the 11th.

ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2B

We download your auto-drafted GSTR-2B, match it against purchase records, and claim only eligible input tax credit so that mismatches do not trigger scrutiny notices later.

Tax computation and confirmation

We compute net tax payable after ITC set-off, share the working with you for approval, and generate the payment challan for any cash liability.

GSTR-3B filing and reporting

After your confirmation and tax payment, we file GSTR-3B before the 20th and send you both filed acknowledgements along with a one-page summary of the month.

Outcomes

What You Get

Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.

Growth Without Compliance Anxiety

New branches, new product lines and interstate sales all carry GST consequences. With standing professional support, you expand knowing registrations, invoicing and returns will keep pace with the business.

Time Back for Your Actual Business

The hours you or your accountant spent wrestling with the portal, JSON errors and reconciliations every month return to sales, operations and customers, while trained hands manage the compliance in the background.

A Written Trail for Every Decision

Tax positions, rate choices and credit calls are documented as they are made, so if a question arises years later, the reasoning and evidence are on file rather than in someone's fading memory.

Tax Paid Under the Right Head

Getting IGST versus CGST and SGST right at the invoice stage spares you the painful cycle of paying the correct head again and pursuing a refund of the amount paid under the wrong one.

Books and Returns That Agree at Year End

Because turnover in your GST returns is kept aligned with your accounts through the year, income tax filing and statutory audit proceed without the GST-versus-books mismatch queries that now surface routinely through data matching.

Bank and Tender Readiness

Loan applications and government tenders routinely demand GST returns and registration documents. With everything filed and archived properly, you can produce a complete compliance file within hours instead of days.

Why a Specialist Matters

With ChennaiGST vs Doing It Yourself

AspectWith ChennaiGSTDIY / Unattended
Annual return preparationMonthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year.Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly.
Portal credentials and dataLogins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward.Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data.
Registration and amendmentsQuery-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify.Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations.
Goods in transitE-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty.A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment.
Keeping up with changesRate changes, portal updates and new thresholds such as the Rs.5 crore e-invoice limit are tracked by us and applied to your case proactively.Changes are discovered after the fact — often through a rejected filing, a blocked e-way bill or a departmental letter.
Due-date trackingA maintained compliance calendar with internal cut-offs days before the 11th and the 20th; we chase you for data, not the other way around.Deadlines remembered from memory or phone alarms; one busy week and the return slips past the due date.

AAR Ruling

Carbonated fruit drinks classified as carbonated beverages, not fruit juice drinks

Rich Dairy Products (India) Pvt Ltd - AAR Tamil Nadu (2019), upheld by AAAR Tamil Nadu, Order No. TN/AAAR/01/2020 · 2019

The Namakkal manufacturer made carbonated beverages containing fruit juice and sought classification under the fruit pulp or fruit juice based drinks entry taxed at 12 percent. The Authority held that once carbon dioxide is added the product is classifiable under heading 2202 10 as waters containing added carbon dioxide and flavouring, and not as fruit juice under heading 2009, so the higher rate applicable to that entry along with compensation cess applies. The Appellate Authority upheld that view.

How we apply it: Chennai beverage makers must check whether the drink is carbonated before applying the 12 percent fruit drink rate.

Notification

Televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and dishwashers down to 18 per cent

Notification No. 9/2025-Central Tax (Rate), dated 17 September 2025, Schedule II, Chapter 84 and 85 entries · 2025-09-17

Air conditioning machines, refrigerators, freezers and other refrigerating equipment, household and other dishwashing machines, vacuum cleaners, television sets including LCD and LED sets, computer monitors, set top boxes and projectors all sit in Schedule II at nine per cent central tax, giving eighteen per cent combined, from 22 September 2025. These goods had carried twenty-eight per cent since 2017, so the reduction of ten percentage points was the largest single consumer benefit of GST 2.0.

Practical effect: Electronics retailers had to reprice stock and re-issue price lists from 22 September 2025, and should retain evidence that the reduction was passed on to buyers.

Circular

How to correct mistakes in GSTR-3B and the rules on late fee for early returns

Circular No. 26/26/2017-GST dated 29 December 2017 · 2017-12-29

This consolidated circular explained the return filing decisions of the 23rd GST Council meeting. It clarified the due dates, the quantum of late fee, and, most usefully, that errors in a GSTR-3B already filed cannot be revised but must be corrected by adjusting the figures in the return of a later month, with interest payable where tax was short paid. It also dealt with returns that were submitted but not filed because of portal problems.

Practical effect: The principle that GSTR-3B is corrected in a subsequent month rather than revised still governs every rectification a Chennai business makes today.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers from practising GST consultants — based on the CGST Act, current CBIC notifications and day-to-day portal experience.

What documents are required for GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing in Basin Bridge?
For GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing you will generally need: Sales invoices or sales register for the month, Purchase invoices or purchase register, Credit notes and debit notes issued during the month, GST portal login credentials, Bank statement for the period, if reconciliation is needed. The exact list depends on your constitution — proprietorship, partnership, LLP or company — and on the specifics of your case. Send what you have on WhatsApp to +91 - 9600 606 444 and we will confirm within the same working day exactly what else is needed, so nothing is rejected later for a missing paper.
Do you provide GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing for businesses on Boja Raja Nagar Main Road?
Yes. We serve businesses on and around Boja Raja Nagar Main Road in Basin Bridge — shops, offices, godowns and home-run businesses alike. Document pickup can be arranged at your premises, or you can send everything on WhatsApp and complete monthly returns without leaving your counter. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 and mention your location; a consultant will confirm the fee and timeline immediately.
What is the difference between CPIN and CIN, and how long is a GST challan valid?
When you generate a challan in Form PMT-06 on the portal, the system issues a fourteen-digit Common Portal Identification Number, the CPIN, which identifies the unpaid challan and remains valid for fifteen days. Once the bank receives your payment, a seventeen-digit Challan Identification Number, the CIN, is generated, comprising the CPIN plus the bank code, and the amount credits your electronic cash ledger. If a challan expires unpaid, simply generate a fresh one; no consequence follows. Payment modes include net banking, UPI, cards, NEFT or RTGS, and over-the-counter deposit up to Rs.10,000 per challan per tax period.
How should I raise invoices on foreign clients and report them in my returns?
You may invoice in foreign currency, but your GST records must state the value in rupees. An export invoice under LUT should carry the endorsement that the supply is meant for export under Letter of Undertaking without payment of integrated tax, along with your GSTIN, SAC code and the recipient's overseas address. In GSTR-1, these invoices go into Table 6A marked without payment of tax, and the turnover flows into GSTR-3B as zero-rated supplies. Match every invoice to a FIRC or bank credit. Our filing package for exporters in Basin Bridge includes this export documentation at Rs.749 per month.
What happens if I miss filing GSTR-3B this month?
A late fee of Rs.50 per day (Rs.20 per day for a nil return) accrues automatically, capped based on your turnover, and interest at 18 percent per annum applies on tax paid late. You also cannot file the next period's GSTR-1 until the pending GSTR-3B is filed, since returns must be filed sequentially. If two consecutive tax periods remain unfiled, e-way bill generation gets blocked, and continued default can lead to suspension of your GSTIN. File the pending return at the earliest; call +91 - 9600 606 444 and we can clear the backlog quickly.
My landlord in Basin Bridge has no GSTIN but my business is registered. Who pays GST on the shop rent?
You do. With effect from 10 October 2024, renting of immovable property other than a residential dwelling by an unregistered person to a registered person was brought under reverse charge through Notification 09/2024-Central Tax (Rate). So a registered trader renting a shop from an unregistered landlord must pay 18 percent under RCM through GSTR-3B and can claim it back as input tax credit if eligible. Composition taxpayers have since been kept outside this entry, given they cannot claim credit. Many small businesses in Basin Bridge are still unaware of this 2024 change, and scrutiny notices on rent entries have already begun appearing. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 to regularise past months.
When is GSTR-1 due for my business in Basin Bridge?
GSTR-1, the statement of outward supplies, is due on the 11th of the following month for taxpayers filing monthly. If you have opted for the QRMP scheme, the quarterly GSTR-1 is due on the 13th of the month after the quarter ends. Filing on time matters because your invoices flow into your buyers' GSTR-2B, which decides their input tax credit. Our team in Basin Bridge tracks these dates for every client so nothing slips. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 if you need a filing reminder set up.
My workshop bills customers for spare parts and labour together. How should GST be charged?
The accepted practice, supported by CBIC's clarification on servicing, is that where the invoice separately shows the value of parts and the value of labour, each takes its own treatment: parts as a supply of goods and repair labour as a service at 18%. Since auto components also moved to 18% from September 2025, both lines of a typical job card now carry the same rate, which removes the old temptation to shift value between parts and labour. Still keep the split, because HSN and SAC reporting in GSTR-1 differ for goods and services. Workshops can call +91 - 9600 606 444 for invoice-format templates.
I paid my supplier only part of the invoice within 180 days. How much ITC do I reverse?
The reversal is proportionate. If you paid sixty percent of the invoice value including tax within 180 days, you reverse only the ITC attributable to the unpaid forty percent, reporting it in Table 4(B)(2) of the GSTR-3B for the tax period immediately following the expiry of the 180 days. Amounts settled through book adjustments, such as netting off mutual dues or debit notes for quality deductions reducing the payable, have been accepted as payment in advance rulings, so a properly documented ledger adjustment protects the credit. Retention money held under contract terms is the most common trigger we see in Basin Bridge construction and job-work businesses.
I received an intimation in DRC-01C about ITC mismatch. How do I respond?
DRC-01C is issued under Rule 88D when the ITC claimed in your GSTR-3B exceeds the ITC available in GSTR-2B beyond the permitted limits. You must respond within seven days, either by paying the excess with interest through DRC-03 or by explaining the difference in Part B of DRC-01C, citing valid reasons such as credits of earlier periods claimed within time, reclaims after Rule 37 payment, or import ITC not flowing through 2B. Until you respond, the portal can block filing of your next GSTR-1. Do not ignore the seven-day window; call +91 - 9600 606 444 the day it arrives.
What is the late fee if I file a nil return late?
For a nil GSTR-3B or nil GSTR-1 filed after the due date, the late fee is Rs.20 per day of delay (Rs.10 CGST plus Rs.10 SGST), capped at Rs.500 per return (Rs.250 plus Rs.250). No interest applies since there is no tax payable. While Rs.500 sounds small, defaults across several months add up, and the bigger cost is the compliance chain breaking and your GSTIN being flagged. If you have a backlog of nil returns pending in Basin Bridge, call +91 - 9600 606 444; clearing them usually takes us a single working day.
Is GST still charged on health insurance premiums?
Not on individual policies. With effect from 22 September 2025, premiums on all individual life insurance policies and individual health insurance policies, including family floater and senior citizen plans, are exempt from GST, along with their reinsurance. Earlier these attracted 18 percent, so the change directly reduces the premium outgo for households. Group policies taken by businesses for employees continue to be taxable, and the input tax credit position on such group covers still depends on whether the cover is statutorily obligatory. When renewing policies, check that the insurer has passed on the exemption rather than merely repricing the premium.
Where is the place of supply for services connected to a building or land?
Services directly relating to immovable property, including those of architects, interior decorators, engineers, surveyors, construction and works contract services, renting, and accommodation in hotels, are supplied where the property is located, under Section 12(3). The recipient's location and registration are irrelevant. So a Basin Bridge architect designing a factory in Coimbatore charges CGST plus SGST of Tamil Nadu, but for a project in Kochi the place of supply is Kerala and IGST applies. For hotels, the state where the hotel stands is always the place of supply, which is why accommodation is invariably billed with that state's local taxes regardless of where the guest's business is registered.
Something is malfunctioning on the GST portal. How do I raise a formal grievance ticket?
Use the GST Self-Service Grievance Redressal Portal at selfservice.gstsystem.in. Select Report Issue, type a keyword describing the problem, and the system suggests the matching category along with FAQs; if those do not resolve it, proceed to raise the ticket by entering your GSTIN or ARN, contact details and a description, and attach screenshots of the error. A ticket reference number is issued instantly by email and SMS. Raising a ticket also creates a record that the failure was on the system side, which helps later if a deadline was missed because of a portal outage. Our Basin Bridge office logs tickets for clients as part of retainer support.
What documents must I prepare for reverse charge purchases from unregistered suppliers?
Two documents are required. First, a self-invoice: Section 31(3)(f) obliges you to issue an invoice on yourself for goods or services received from an unregistered supplier on which you pay tax under reverse charge, and under Rule 47A this self-invoice must be issued within thirty days of receiving the supply. Second, a payment voucher under Rule 52 at the time of making payment to the supplier. The self-invoice is the document on which you claim the input tax credit of the reverse charge tax paid. Freight from unregistered transporters and advocate fees are typical cases where businesses miss this paperwork.
What are the current GST rate slabs after the GST 2.0 changes?
From 22 September 2025, following the 56th GST Council meeting, India moved to a simplified two-slab structure: a merit rate of 5 percent and a standard rate of 18 percent. The earlier 12 percent and 28 percent slabs were abolished. A special 40 percent rate applies to a short list of luxury and demerit goods, while the concessional rates of 3 percent on gold and silver and 0.25 percent on rough diamonds continue. Businesses in Basin Bridge should re-verify the rate on every product they sell, because hundreds of items changed slabs on that date.
Which goods and services attract the new 40 percent GST rate?
The 40 percent rate is confined to luxury and demerit supplies. It covers aerated waters, caffeinated and other sugary carbonated beverages, large cars beyond the small-car specifications, motorcycles above 350cc, yachts, personal aircraft, and specified actionable claims such as betting, casinos and online money gaming. Pan masala and tobacco products continue under their earlier levy structure until the compensation cess obligations are discharged, after which they move to the 40 percent rate as notified. If your business deals in any of these lines, pricing and working capital need careful planning.
I deposited money under the wrong head in my GST cash ledger. Why can the amount not be used?
The cash ledger is divided into major heads, IGST, CGST, SGST and cess, and minor heads, tax, interest, penalty, fee and others. An amount deposited under one combination, say CGST-penalty, cannot be directly used to pay under another, say IGST-tax, which is why your balance appears unusable despite money lying in the ledger. The remedy is Form PMT-09, which transfers the amount to the correct head instantly without any officer approval. Many Basin Bridge taxpayers wrongly deposit a fresh challan in this situation; a two-minute PMT-09 filing saves that duplication. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 if your ledger looks stuck.
Do you provide gst return filing for small businesses and proprietorships in Basin Bridge?
Yes. A large share of our clients in Basin Bridge are proprietors, small traders, shop owners, freelancers and family businesses rather than large companies. The fee of Rs.749/month and the process are the same regardless of size, and we explain the compliance position in plain language — in Tamil or English — so you understand what is being filed on your behalf and why.
Can I get GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B monthly filing done online without visiting the office?
Yes, the entire process can be handled online. You share scanned documents on WhatsApp or email, we prepare and file everything on the GST portal, and you receive the acknowledgement and filed copies digitally. Businesses in Basin Bridge regularly complete monthly returns with us without a single office visit. If a physical verification or personal hearing is required by the department, we guide you through it.
