Trade Profile and GST Jurisdiction for Padur

Finding dependable LUT Filing RFD-11 in Padur usually means choosing between a distant online portal and an overloaded local accountant. Padur sits on Rajiv Gandhi Salai between Siruseri SIPCOT and Kelambakkam, where Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, the Chettinad Health City campus just south at Kelambakkam and gated projects such as Pacifica Aurum and Helios City drive local trade. Co-living hostels, messes, building-material depots and the Bhagawan Fish Market on the Kelambakkam side dominate. Promoters here struggle with the one and five per cent apartment schemes and the reverse-charge shortfall when registered procurement falls below eighty per cent. We offer a third option: a professional Chennai GST practice that treats Padur, Kelambakkam and Siruseri as home ground, responds the same working day, files ahead of deadlines, and stands behind its work if a notice ever arrives on a return we prepared.

GST jurisdiction for Padur (PIN 603103): businesses here generally fall under the CGST Chennai Outer Commissionerate. We regularly represent clients from Padur before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and notice hearings, and can confirm your exact division and range from your GSTIN. State-jurisdiction cases are handled with the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department.
GST for Restaurants and Cloud Kitchens in Padur
Restaurant service is taxed at 5 percent without input tax credit, so GST paid on rent, kitchen equipment and packaging is a cost your menu pricing must absorb. Orders routed through Swiggy or Zomato fall under Section 9(5), where the platform itself pays the tax, yet you must still disclose those supplies separately in GSTR-1, keeping direct billing and aggregator billing distinct. A cloud kitchen running several brands from one Padur address needs one registration with disciplined brand-wise invoicing, not separate GSTINs. A specialist splits the two order streams correctly every month and prevents double taxation of aggregator sales. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 to review your setup.
Urgent LUT Filing RFD-11 in Padur is handled on priority — expiring deadlines, suspended registrations and notice replies are taken up the same working day, with fixed professional fees starting at Rs.999.
Why Us

Why Padur Businesses Choose ChennaiGST

Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.

✓

Composition Scheme Compliance Without Slips

Composition dealers have their own rulebook — CMP-08 every quarter, GSTR-4 annually by 30 June, bills of supply instead of tax invoices, and a turnover ceiling that must be watched. We handle each of these correctly so the scheme's simplicity never turns into a violation.

✓

Same-Day Response, Every Working Day

Send your query on call or WhatsApp and you hear back the same working day, usually within a few hours. When a due date is close or a notice has landed, waiting two days for a reply is simply not acceptable, and we know it.

✓

E-Commerce Seller Reconciliation, Including TCS

Sellers on Amazon, Flipkart and other marketplaces face a three-way match between marketplace reports, GSTR-1 and the TCS the operator deposits against your GSTIN. We reconcile all three every period and accept the TCS credit, so sellers in Padur never leave marketplace deductions unclaimed.

✓

Cancelled GSTIN? We Handle Revocation Too

A registration cancelled for non-filing is not the end of the road. We bring the pending returns up to date, clear the dues and file the revocation application in REG-21 within the permitted window, restoring suspended and cancelled GSTINs to active status.

✓

ITC Maximisation Within the Law

We match your purchase register against GSTR-2B every period, follow up on invoices your suppliers have not uploaded, and ensure every rupee of eligible input tax credit is claimed. Clients routinely recover credit they were silently losing under self-filing.

✓

QRMP Managed Properly, Not Just Opted Into

Quarterly filing still demands monthly attention — IFF uploads so your buyers see their credit on time, and tax payment through PMT-06 by the 25th for the first two months of each quarter. We run that monthly rhythm so QRMP saves you effort without creating gaps.

How It Works

Our LUT Filing Process

Eligibility check

We confirm you are eligible to file an LUT, which covers all registered exporters except those prosecuted for tax evasion exceeding Rs.2.5 crore.

Details preparation

We compile the authorised signatory information and the names, addresses and occupations of two independent witnesses required for the undertaking in Form RFD-11.

Online filing

The LUT is filed on the GST portal under the refunds menu, signed with DSC or EVC, usually completed on the same working day.

Acknowledgement handover

We download the filed LUT and share the ARN, which should be quoted on every export invoice raised without payment of IGST during the year.

Renewal tracking

We record the validity, which runs to the end of the financial year, and remind you before 1 April so the fresh LUT is in place for the new year.

Outcomes

What You Get

Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.

Why a Specialist Matters

With ChennaiGST vs Doing It Yourself

AspectWith ChennaiGSTDIY / Unattended
Portal credentials and dataLogins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward.Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data.
Record keepingEvery return, challan, acknowledgement and working paper archived in an organised folder, retrievable in minutes years later.Documents scattered across email, downloads and old phones; assembling records for a bank or an audit takes days.
Risk of noticesGSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciled before filing, removing the mismatches that trigger most scrutiny notices.Inconsistent figures across returns quietly build a mismatch history that surfaces later as ASMT-10 scrutiny or a demand notice.
Due-date trackingA maintained compliance calendar with internal cut-offs days before the 11th and the 20th; we chase you for data, not the other way around.Deadlines remembered from memory or phone alarms; one busy week and the return slips past the due date.
Late fees and interestFilings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise.Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum.
Annual return preparationMonthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year.Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly.

Portal Advisory

CBIC answers on what counts as pre-packaged and labelled

CBIC Frequently Asked Questions on GST on pre-packaged and labelled goods, dated 17 July 2022 · 2022-07-17

A day before the change took effect, the Tax Research Unit issued FAQs explaining that the expression takes its meaning from the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and covers commodities intended for retail sale in packs of up to twenty-five kilograms or twenty-five litres that must bear statutory declarations. A single package above that limit is not covered, nor are packs supplied to an industrial or institutional consumer. Loose sale from a large pack by a retailer does not attract the levy.

Practical effect: A fifty-kilogram rice bag sold as one package stays outside the levy, but the moment it is repacked into labelled retail bags of twenty-five kilograms or less, five per cent applies.

Circular

Director's personal property rent outside reverse charge; cinema food taxed as restaurant service

Circular No. 201/13/2023-GST · 2023-08-01

CBIC clarified that where a director rents out immovable property to the company in his personal capacity rather than as a director, the reverse charge entry for director's services does not apply and the ordinary forward charge rules govern. It also clarified that supply of food and beverages in cinema halls is taxable as a restaurant service at five per cent without input tax credit, unless the sale of the ticket and the food are clubbed as a composite supply with the ticket as the principal supply.

What to do about it: Companies paying rent to a director for personally owned premises need not discharge reverse charge under the director's-services entry, but must check the landlord's registration status.

GST Council

Council decides to introduce electronic invoicing for B2B supplies in phases

35th GST Council Meeting, New Delhi — 21 June 2019 · 2019-06-21

At the first meeting chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Council decided to introduce an electronic invoicing system in a phase-wise manner for business-to-business transactions. The press release recorded that e-invoicing would help taxpayers with backward integration and automation of tax-relevant processes and would help authorities combat evasion, with Phase 1 proposed to be voluntary and rolled out from January 2020. This decision is the origin of the Invoice Registration Portal, the IRN and the QR code now mandatory for most mid-sized and large businesses.

Why this matters: Every later e-invoicing threshold reduction, down to the Rs 5 crore limit now applicable, traces back to this decision, so businesses crossing a threshold must set up e-invoicing from the first day of the next financial year.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers from practising GST consultants — based on the CGST Act, current CBIC notifications and day-to-day portal experience.

What documents are required for LUT filing RFD-11 in Padur?
For LUT filing RFD-11 you will generally need: GST portal login credentials, Copy of GST registration certificate REG-06, PAN of the entity and authorised signatory details, Names, addresses and occupations of two witnesses, IEC certificate, if engaged in goods export. The exact list depends on your constitution — proprietorship, partnership, LLP or company — and on the specifics of your case. Send what you have on WhatsApp to +91 - 9600 606 444 and we will confirm within the same working day exactly what else is needed, so nothing is rejected later for a missing paper.
How much does LUT filing RFD-11 cost in Padur?
Our fee for LUT filing RFD-11 in Padur starts at Rs.999 and is quoted in full before we begin — there are no hidden charges added later. The fee covers professional work end to end: document review, preparation, filing and follow-up until completion. Government fees or portal charges, where applicable, are separate and always shown to you upfront. For an exact quote based on your turnover and business type, call +91 - 9600 606 444 and a consultant will confirm it on the call.
My foreign client wants to pay me in Indian rupees. Does the supply still qualify as export?
It can. The definition of export of services requires payment in convertible foreign exchange or in Indian rupees wherever permitted by the Reserve Bank of India. Under the RBI's international trade settlement mechanism introduced in July 2022, payments routed through Special Rupee Vostro Accounts of partner-country banks are permitted in INR, and such receipts satisfy the export condition. What does not qualify is a plain INR transfer from the client's Indian bank account or Indian branch. Preserve the bank advice showing the Vostro routing, because refund officers ask for it along with your invoice statement.
What conditions must my IT company meet for a supply to count as export of services?
Section 2(6) of the IGST Act lays down five cumulative conditions: the supplier must be located in India, the recipient must be located outside India, the place of supply must be outside India, payment must be received in convertible foreign exchange or in Indian rupees wherever permitted by the RBI, and the supplier and recipient must not be merely establishments of the same person. If even one condition fails, the supply is not zero-rated and GST becomes payable despite the foreign billing. Before filing an LUT, we test every revenue stream of Padur IT companies against these five conditions.
What happens to my export refund if the foreign client never pays me?
It depends on what you export. For export of goods, Rule 96B of the CGST Rules links refunds to realisation: if sale proceeds are not realised within the period allowed under FEMA, generally nine months, you must deposit the refund already received, proportionate to the unrealised amount, along with interest, within thirty days of the expiry of that period, and you can reclaim it by producing evidence of realisation within three months of receiving the money. For export of services, the consequence is even more direct: receipt of payment in convertible foreign exchange is itself a condition of export under Section 2(6) of the IGST Act, and refund claims must be backed by FIRC or BRC, so an unpaid service invoice never qualifies as a zero-rated export at all. Exporters in Padur should therefore track outstanding foreign receivables against FIRC dates every quarter, not just at year end.
Which is better for an exporter: LUT without tax or paying IGST and claiming refund?
Both routes are legal, and the better choice depends on cash flow and credit position. The LUT route means you never pay IGST on exports, and you separately claim refund of accumulated ITC, which suits service exporters and businesses with modest input credit. The IGST payment route blocks cash temporarily but refunds flow automatically through the customs system once GSTR-1 and the shipping bill match, which some goods exporters find faster. A business with large accumulated ITC often prefers paying IGST by utilising that credit. A short working comparing both routes usually settles the question.
I earn commission from a foreign company for arranging Indian buyers. Is this an export of services?
Usually not, and this surprises many agents. An intermediary is someone who arranges or facilitates a supply between two other persons, such as a commission agent or broker. Under Section 13(8)(b), the place of supply of intermediary services is the supplier's own location, so a commission agent in Padur serving a foreign principal has Tamil Nadu as the place of supply, the transaction fails the export test and 18 percent GST applies. A person supplying the main service directly to the foreign client on their own account is not an intermediary. The contract wording decides everything, so have it reviewed before claiming LUT benefits; call +91 - 9600 606 444.
Do I need an LUT to supply goods or services to an SEZ unit?
Yes, if you want to supply without charging IGST. Supplies to SEZ units and SEZ developers for authorised operations are zero-rated under Section 16 of the IGST Act, exactly like physical exports. So a supplier in Padur billing an SEZ unit can either supply under LUT without payment of tax and claim refund of accumulated ITC, or pay IGST and claim it as a refund. The same RFD-11 covers both exports and SEZ supplies for the financial year, so one filing protects all your zero-rated turnover. Keep the SEZ endorsement documents for refund claims.
I received a clarification notice on my GST application. What should I do?
The officer has issued Form REG-03 seeking clarification, additional documents or corrections, commonly for address proof mismatches or unclear photographs. You must respond in Form REG-04 through the portal within seven working days of the notice, attaching the corrected documents and a clear written explanation. If the reply satisfies the officer, registration is approved; if you fail to reply or the reply is inadequate, the application is rejected in Form REG-05 and you must apply afresh. Many applicants in Padur come to us at exactly this stage; a precise, document-backed REG-04 usually resolves it. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 for help.
I run a software services company in Padur billing US clients. Can I claim a GST refund?
Yes, provided your supplies qualify as export of services: the recipient is outside India, payment is received in convertible foreign exchange, and you and the client are not merely establishments of the same person. Export of services is zero-rated, so if you supply under LUT without charging IGST, the ITC on your rent, software subscriptions and other business inputs can be refunded through RFD-01. You must attach FIRC or bank realisation certificates proving foreign exchange receipt. Many IT exporters in Padur accumulate lakhs in unclaimed credit; call +91 - 9600 606 444 for a free eligibility review.
Can I include ITC on input services in my inverted duty refund claim?
No. Under Rule 89(5) of the CGST Rules, the refund formula for inverted duty structure considers only the net input tax credit availed on inputs, meaning goods used in making the outward supply. ITC on input services and capital goods is excluded from the computation, a position upheld by the Supreme Court in the VKC Footsteps case. That excluded credit is not lost; it remains in your electronic credit ledger for set-off against future output tax. A proper working of eligible versus ineligible credit prevents deficiency memos and partial rejections.
The GST rate on my product changed. Which rate applies to pending orders and invoices?
Section 14 of the CGST Act decides this by looking at three events: the date of supply, the date of invoice and the date of payment. Broadly, if any two of the three events fall after the rate change, the new rate applies; if two fall before, the old rate applies. So goods delivered in Padur before 22 September 2025 but invoiced and paid for afterwards attract the new rate, while goods delivered and invoiced earlier keep the old rate even if payment came later. Document dates carefully during any transition window, because officers test these invoices in scrutiny.
Where is the place of supply for services connected to a building or land?
Services directly relating to immovable property, including those of architects, interior decorators, engineers, surveyors, construction and works contract services, renting, and accommodation in hotels, are supplied where the property is located, under Section 12(3). The recipient's location and registration are irrelevant. So a Padur architect designing a factory in Coimbatore charges CGST plus SGST of Tamil Nadu, but for a project in Kochi the place of supply is Kerala and IGST applies. For hotels, the state where the hotel stands is always the place of supply, which is why accommodation is invariably billed with that state's local taxes regardless of where the guest's business is registered.
Can you give me a simple GST due-date calendar for my business?
For monthly filers: GSTR-1 by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th of the next month. Under QRMP: optional IFF by the 13th of the next month, PMT-06 payment by the 25th, quarterly GSTR-1 by the 13th and GSTR-3B by the 22nd (Tamil Nadu) after the quarter. Composition dealers pay via CMP-08 by the 18th after each quarter and file GSTR-4 annually by 30 June. GSTR-7 and GSTR-8 are due on the 10th, and GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C by 31 December. Clients in Padur receive our reminder messages before every date.
How much time do I get to raise an invoice for services?
A tax invoice for services must be issued within thirty days from the date of supply of the service. For banks, insurers, financial institutions and NBFCs, the limit is forty-five days. Where services are supplied continuously, the invoice follows the contract: if the due date of payment is ascertainable, invoice on or before that date; if not, invoice when payment is received; and if payment is linked to completion of an event or milestone, invoice on or before its completion. Consultants and agencies that bill quarterly should check their contracts against these rules, since late invoicing defers nothing legally.
Can I reduce GST for discounts given after the sale, like turnover incentives?
Only if three conditions in Section 15(3)(b) are met: the discount was established under an agreement that existed before or at the time of supply, it can be linked to specific invoices, and the recipient reverses the input tax credit attributable to it. If all three hold, you issue a GST credit note and reduce your output tax. If any condition fails, which is common for year-end volume incentives negotiated later, the adjustment must go through a commercial credit note without any GST effect. Distributor incentive schemes run from Padur should be papered before the season starts, not after.
I hold stock purchased before the September 2025 rate cuts at higher tax rates. What happens when I sell it now?
You charge the rate in force on the date of supply, so goods sold on or after 22 September 2025 carry the new lower rate even if you bought them when the rate was 12% or 28%. The input tax credit you took at the old, higher rate remains fully intact in your credit ledger and is not restricted merely because output is now taxed lower; it simply sets off across your overall liability. No stock declaration was required for this transition. What traders in Padur must avoid is selling old-MRP stock at prices that ignore the tax cut without reviewing pricing. Call +91 - 9600 606 444 for a transition check.
Is GST payable on hostel or paying guest accommodation in Padur?
A specific exemption effective 15 July 2024 covers accommodation services supplied at a value up to Rs.20,000 per person per month, provided the accommodation is supplied for a minimum continuous period of ninety days. Student hostels and working men's or women's PGs in Padur charging within this limit for long stays are therefore exempt. Where the monthly charge exceeds Rs.20,000, or the stay is shorter than ninety days, the supply is taxable like ordinary accommodation. Operators should maintain stay records and agreements evidencing the duration, because the ninety-day condition is what officers test first during verification.
Do you provide lut filing under gst for small businesses and proprietorships in Padur?
Yes. A large share of our clients in Padur are proprietors, small traders, shop owners, freelancers and family businesses rather than large companies. The fee of Rs.999 and the process are the same regardless of size, and we explain the compliance position in plain language — in Tamil or English — so you understand what is being filed on your behalf and why.
What is the process for LUT filing RFD-11?
The process runs in clear stages: Eligibility check; Details preparation; Online filing; Acknowledgement handover. A senior consultant reviews your file at each stage rather than passing it to a data-entry desk, and you receive a confirmation with the filed documents once it is complete. You always know which stage your work is at — we update you on WhatsApp instead of leaving you to follow up.
Which GST office handles Padur businesses?
Businesses in Padur (PIN 603103) generally fall under the CGST Chennai Outer Commissionerate, with state-jurisdiction cases handled by the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department. Your exact division and range can be confirmed from your GSTIN on the GST portal. We regularly appear before this jurisdiction for registrations, clarifications and hearings, so we know the local practice and documentation preferences.
