Finding dependable New GST Registration in ICF Colony usually means choosing between a distant online portal and an overloaded local accountant. ICF Colony grew around the Integral Coach Factory, and its economy stays railway facing: precision machine shops, sheet metal fabricators, electrical and painting contractors, uniform tailors and canteen contractors supplying the Shell and Furnishing divisions through Constable Road and Portious Road. Konnur High Road and New Avadi Road add provision stores and hardware, while Welcome Colony and the Officers Colony lanes house staff quarters and rented shops. Vendors here contend with Section 51 TDS deductions, works contract classification and GSTR-2B mismatches on railway purchase orders. We offer a third option: a professional Chennai GST practice that treats ICF Colony, Villivakkam and Ayanavaram as home ground, responds the same working day, files ahead of deadlines, and stands behind its work if a notice ever arrives on a return we prepared.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
GSTR-1 requires four-digit HSN reporting for turnover up to Rs.5 crore and six digits above it, and a wrong code often means a wrong rate. We verify the classification of what you actually supply, so your invoices and returns rest on defensible codes.
Composition dealers have their own rulebook — CMP-08 every quarter, GSTR-4 annually by 30 June, bills of supply instead of tax invoices, and a turnover ceiling that must be watched. We handle each of these correctly so the scheme's simplicity never turns into a violation.
Your cash ledger, credit ledger and liability register are reviewed regularly, not just at filing time. Excess balances are flagged for use or refund, and where a genuine slip surfaces, a voluntary payment through DRC-03 settles it before it can mature into a notice.
Goods sent to job workers must move on delivery challans, return within the statutory period, and be reported in ITC-04. We track every outward and return leg for manufacturing clients in ICF Colony, so inputs sent out for processing never quietly convert into a deemed supply carrying tax and interest.
A new GSTIN comes with obligations nobody explains at approval — the invoice series rules, displaying the registration certificate and GSTIN at your premises, and the first return cycle. We walk new registrants in ICF Colony through each of these so month one starts correctly.
The annual return and, where turnover crosses Rs.5 crore, the self-certified reconciliation statement in GSTR-9C are prepared by the same team that filed your monthly returns. Nothing about your year has to be rediscovered or explained to a stranger in December.
You share PAN, Aadhaar, photographs, address proof and bank details over WhatsApp or email. We review each document against portal requirements and flag anything that could trigger an officer query.
We draft Form GST REG-01 with the correct business constitution, principal place of business, HSN or SAC codes and authorised signatory details, then share a summary for your confirmation.
The application is filed on the GST portal and we guide the authorised signatory through Aadhaar OTP authentication, which speeds up approval and usually avoids physical verification of premises.
We track the ARN daily. If the officer issues a notice in Form REG-03 seeking clarification, we draft and file the reply in Form REG-04 within the permitted time.
Once approved, we download your registration certificate in Form REG-06, help set up portal login credentials, and brief you on invoice format, return due dates and e-way bill obligations.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: 3-7 working days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Late-fee waivers and amnesty windows notified by the GST Council are applied to your history within their deadlines, capturing reliefs that most businesses only hear about once the window has already closed.
Whether moving between composition and regular scheme, opting into QRMP, or crossing the e-invoice threshold at Rs.5 crore, transitions are planned in advance rather than discovered after a compliance breach.
Continuous filing protects you from the suspension and cancellation proceedings that hit chronic non-filers, so your registration, e-way bill access and ability to issue tax invoices are never suddenly cut off.
A fixed professional fee is almost always cheaper than the combination of late fees, interest, lost credit and staff hours that informal, last-minute compliance quietly accumulates over a year.
Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.
Filed returns, challans, reconciliations and working papers are archived in order from day one. If an audit or departmental verification comes, your file is ready the same week, not assembled in a panic.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Input tax credit | Purchase register matched against GSTR-2B each period, with defaulting suppliers chased so eligible credit is actually captured. | Credit claimed from books alone; mismatches with GSTR-2B mean lost credit or excess claims that invite departmental queries. |
| Due-date tracking | A maintained compliance calendar with internal cut-offs days before the 11th and the 20th; we chase you for data, not the other way around. | Deadlines remembered from memory or phone alarms; one busy week and the return slips past the due date. |
| Annual return preparation | Monthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year. | Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly. |
| Registration and amendments | Query-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify. | Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations. |
| Keeping up with changes | Rate changes, portal updates and new thresholds such as the Rs.5 crore e-invoice limit are tracked by us and applied to your case proactively. | Changes are discovered after the fact — often through a rejected filing, a blocked e-way bill or a departmental letter. |
| When a notice arrives | A professional drafts the reply in the department's format and files it within the statutory window, such as thirty days for ASMT-11. | You face departmental language alone, and a missed reply deadline can convert a simple query into a demand with penalty. |
We track every notification, circular and judgment that changes a filing position, so your returns and replies reflect the current law.
Tvl. Rising International Co. v. Commissioner of Central GST and Central Excise — Madras High Court (Madurai Bench), W.P.(MD) No. 12152 of 2020, decided 6 October 2020 (G.R. Swaminathan J.) · 2020-10-06
An importer of toys challenged seizure and prohibition orders issued during a GST inspection. The Madras High Court partly allowed the petition, sustaining the seizure but modifying the prohibition order and directing provisional release of the goods on a personal bond plus a deposit of Rs. 2 lakh. The Court noted that the officers had not produced the material on which their reason to believe was founded, and took into account the severe business disruption caused by the pandemic.
How we apply it: Seized stock can often be released provisionally on bond and a modest deposit while the investigation continues, instead of remaining locked up indefinitely.
Notification No. 55/2023-Central Tax · 2023-12-20
After Cyclone Michaung caused severe flooding in and around Chennai, CBIC extended the due date for furnishing Form GSTR-3B for the tax period November 2023 to 27 December 2023 for registered persons whose principal place of business falls in the districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu. The relief applied automatically by district and no separate application was required from affected taxpayers.
What to do about it: In a declared local disaster, CBIC does grant district-specific extensions for Chennai, so check for a notification before paying late fee on a delayed return.
GSTN Advisory dated 23 August 2024 — Rule 10A bank account furnishing · 2024-08-23
GSTN advised that under Rule 10A of the CGST Rules, registered taxpayers must furnish valid bank account details within 30 days of registration or before filing GSTR-1 or IFF, whichever is earlier. From 1 September 2024 the portal blocks GSTR-1 and IFF filing for taxpayers whose bank account details are not available and validated on the portal. The measure targets fraudulent registrations created without genuine banking trails.
How we apply it: Newly registered businesses should add and validate their bank account on the portal immediately after registration to avoid a filing blockage.
