Every locality in Chennai has its own commercial rhythm, and Neelankarai is no exception. Neelankarai's East Coast Road frontage carries beachfront restaurants, boutique guest houses, interior and furnishing studios, gyms, international schools and villa builders, with residential trade concentrated in Kazura Garden, CLRI Nagar and Sandeep Avenue. Short-stay rental and restaurant operators here regularly misjudge accommodation rate slabs, blocked ITC on works contracts, and reverse charge where residential property is let out for business use. Our practice has shaped its GST Notice Reply work around exactly these realities, serving clients in Neelankarai as well as Palavakkam and Vettuvankeni. Registrations, returns, refunds and notice replies are handled by one accountable team, with fees fixed in writing before work begins and every filing reconciled against portal data before it is submitted.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, marketplace reports, plain Excel or even a handwritten bill book — we take your data in whatever form your Neelankarai business already maintains it. You are never forced to buy new software or retrain staff just to become our client.
Every acknowledgement, challan, computation sheet and filed return is saved and shared with you in an organised folder. When a bank, buyer or GST officer asks for a document from two years ago, it reaches you the same day without any scrambling.
Quarterly filing still demands monthly attention — IFF uploads so your buyers see their credit on time, and tax payment through PMT-06 by the 25th for the first two months of each quarter. We run that monthly rhythm so QRMP saves you effort without creating gaps.
A registration cancelled for non-filing is not the end of the road. We bring the pending returns up to date, clear the dues and file the revocation application in REG-21 within the permitted window, restoring suspended and cancelled GSTINs to active status.
GST is confusing enough without a language barrier. Our team explains notices, tax positions and filing requirements in plain Tamil or English, whichever you and your staff in Neelankarai are comfortable with, and keeps written communication simple and jargon-free.
Most GST notices trace back to mismatches between GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B. We reconcile these before filing, not after a notice arrives, so your returns are internally consistent and the most common triggers for ASMT-10 scrutiny simply never appear.
We read the notice line by line, identify the section invoked, the periods covered, the exact information sought and the deadline for response.
The figures alleged in the notice are reconciled against your filed returns, GSTR-2B and books, so the reply is grounded in verifiable numbers rather than assertions.
We draft a professional, point-wise reply addressing every allegation, attaching reconciliations, invoices and legal support, and share the draft with you for approval.
The approved reply is filed on the portal within the deadline. Where a small genuine liability exists, we advise payment through DRC-03 to limit interest and penalty.
We monitor the portal for the officer's response, attend to any further queries or hearing dates, and pursue the matter until a closure or order is received.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: Draft reply in 3-5 working days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
With the LUT filed at the start of each financial year and refund claims tracked to credit, exporters supply without blocking funds in IGST and recover accumulated credit on schedule.
You know your expected GST outflow days before the 20th, not on the night of filing. That advance visibility lets you plan payments, collections and bank balances instead of scrambling for funds at the deadline.
Funding rounds, partnerships and business sales all begin with a compliance check. A clean, documented GST history lets you clear that scrutiny quickly instead of watching a deal stall over old filing gaps.
A fixed professional fee is almost always cheaper than the combination of late fees, interest, lost credit and staff hours that informal, last-minute compliance quietly accumulates over a year.
Each period you receive a simple computation showing output tax, credit utilised and net cash payable, so GST becomes a number you understand and question rather than a figure you accept blindly.
Getting IGST versus CGST and SGST right at the invoice stage spares you the painful cycle of paying the correct head again and pursuing a refund of the amount paid under the wrong one.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Registration and amendments | Query-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify. | Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations. |
| Risk of notices | GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciled before filing, removing the mismatches that trigger most scrutiny notices. | Inconsistent figures across returns quietly build a mismatch history that surfaces later as ASMT-10 scrutiny or a demand notice. |
| Late fees and interest | Filings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise. | Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum. |
| Goods in transit | E-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty. | A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment. |
| Portal credentials and data | Logins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward. | Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data. |
| Time cost | Roughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours. | Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself. |
MNM Jain -architecture dept road is a local street in Neelankarai, about 1.2 km west of the centre of Neelankarai. The same consultant covers the streets immediately around it — Neelankarai link road (about 450 m); CLRI Nagar 1st Main Road (about 500 m); Bridge (about 550 m); 1st Cross Street (about 1.0 km) — so a site visit on MNM Jain -architecture dept road can usually be combined with other work in Neelankarai on the same trip. Road classification and position from OpenStreetMap; distances are straight-line and approximate. Jurisdiction must be confirmed on your own registration certificate.
A working knowledge of recent instruments and judgments is what separates a defensible filing from a risky one.
CBIC Instruction No. 03/2025-GST · 2025-04-17
Responding to widespread complaints about arbitrary queries, CBIC directed registration officers to seek only the documents listed in Form GST REG-01. For rented premises a valid rent agreement with the owner's ownership proof suffices; for owned premises any one ownership document is enough; no-objection certificates suffice for consent premises. Officers must not demand physical originals, question the applicant's residential address or business activity, or raise presumptive queries, and any query must be specific and approved by the Deputy or Assistant Commissioner.
Practical effect: If a registration query asks for documents outside the prescribed list, cite this instruction in your REG-04 reply and escalate to the jurisdictional Commissioner if it persists.
37th GST Council Meeting, Goa — 20 September 2019 · 2019-09-20
The Council replaced the declared tariff basis for hotel accommodation with actual transaction value and reset the slabs with effect from 1 October 2019: nil where the value is up to Rs 1,000 per day, 12 per cent between Rs 1,001 and Rs 7,500, and 18 per cent above Rs 7,500. Outdoor catering, other than in premises having daily tariff above Rs 7,500, was reduced from 18 per cent with input tax credit to 5 per cent without credit. This substantially reduced tax on mid-segment hotels and on marriage and event catering.
What it means for you: Chennai hotels and outdoor caterers had to rebuild their rate logic around the actual amount charged, and caterers lost input credit in exchange for the lower five per cent rate.
Circular No. 218/12/2024-GST · 2024-06-26
CBIC clarified that granting a loan or advance between related persons, including by an overseas affiliate to its Indian affiliate, is a supply of service, but the consideration for that service is represented only by interest or discount, which is exempt. Where no processing fee, service fee or administrative charge is levied, there is no taxable consideration, and no notional interest can be imputed merely because the parties are related. GST applies only to fees actually charged.
What to do about it: Group companies extending interest-free funding to each other owe no GST, but any documentation or processing fee charged is taxable and must be invoiced.

Upload the PDF to our free GST Notice Analyser. It identifies which of 34 notice types you have, pulls out the DIN, GSTIN and tax period, reads the reply date printed on the notice and tells you plainly whether that date has already passed — along with the documents and reconciliations you will need. No payment, no account. If the notice does not state a date we can read, it says so rather than guessing one for you.
