Every locality in Chennai has its own commercial rhythm, and Otteri is no exception. Otteri is ringed by Konnur High Road, Strahans Road, Cooks Road and Brick Kiln Road, a weaver-and-tailor quarter turned retail belt of handloom and readymade garment units, printing presses, bakeries, mutton and vegetable vendors and hardware shops around the Otteri Nallah and Medavakkam Tank Road. Small traders here trip over the five and twelve per cent garment rate split, QRMP filing and GSTR-2B mismatches. Our practice has shaped its GST Refund RFD-01 work around exactly these realities, serving clients in Otteri as well as Purasawalkam and Perambur. Registrations, returns, refunds and notice replies are handled by one accountable team, with fees fixed in writing before work begins and every filing reconciled against portal data before it is submitted.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Traders, manufacturers, contractors, e-commerce sellers, professionals and service exporters — we have handled GST for all of them. Whatever mix of goods and services your Otteri business supplies, the rate, classification and place-of-supply questions have almost certainly crossed our desk before.
Your work is executed by trained GST staff working under direct senior supervision, not passed to interns learning on your file. The person preparing your return understands reverse charge, blocked credits and place of supply, because getting these wrong costs you money.
Freight paid to transporters, advocate fees, imported services and other notified supplies attract GST under reverse charge, with self-invoicing where the supplier is unregistered. We maintain a running RCM check every period, because this is the liability self-filers most consistently miss.
Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, marketplace reports, plain Excel or even a handwritten bill book — we take your data in whatever form your Otteri business already maintains it. You are never forced to buy new software or retrain staff just to become our client.
Composition dealers have their own rulebook — CMP-08 every quarter, GSTR-4 annually by 30 June, bills of supply instead of tax invoices, and a turnover ceiling that must be watched. We handle each of these correctly so the scheme's simplicity never turns into a violation.
Goods sent to job workers must move on delivery challans, return within the statutory period, and be reported in ITC-04. We track every outward and return leg for manufacturing clients in Otteri, so inputs sent out for processing never quietly convert into a deemed supply carrying tax and interest.
We identify the correct refund category, confirm the two-year limitation from the relevant date, and compute the admissible amount using the formula prescribed under the rules.
Invoices, shipping bills, FIRCs, the LUT and ledger extracts are compiled into the prescribed statements, and gaps that commonly cause deficiency memos are fixed upfront.
The refund application is filed on the portal with all annexures and declarations, and the acknowledgement in RFD-02 is tracked within the statutory fifteen days.
We respond to any deficiency memo in RFD-03 or show cause notice in RFD-08, appear through written submissions, and pursue provisional refund where the category permits.
We track the sanction order in RFD-06 and payment advice in RFD-05, confirm the credit in your validated bank account, and archive the complete claim file.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: Application filed in 3-5 working days; sanction typically within 60 days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.
Large buyers check vendor GST compliance before releasing payments and renewing contracts. A clean filing record with timely GSTR-1 uploads keeps your invoices reflecting in their GSTR-2B and your payments unblocked.
We spot suppliers who stop uploading invoices or filing returns and alert you before their default becomes your blocked credit, letting you recover amounts or switch vendors while the exposure is still small.
Your scheme choice — regular, composition or QRMP — is re-examined as turnover and margins change, so you are always paying under the structure that legitimately costs your business the least.
Funding rounds, partnerships and business sales all begin with a compliance check. A clean, documented GST history lets you clear that scrutiny quickly instead of watching a deal stall over old filing gaps.
Correct, complete tax invoices signal a well-run business to customers, vendors and banks alike, quietly strengthening your credibility in every transaction where your paperwork is seen.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Goods in transit | E-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty. | A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment. |
| Refund claims | RFD-01 filed with complete statements and annexures, tracked from ARN to bank credit, with any deficiency memo answered promptly. | Incomplete claims bounce back as deficiency memos while the refund sits unclaimed for months and working capital stays blocked. |
| When a notice arrives | A professional drafts the reply in the department's format and files it within the statutory window, such as thirty days for ASMT-11. | You face departmental language alone, and a missed reply deadline can convert a simple query into a demand with penalty. |
| Time cost | Roughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours. | Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself. |
| Annual return preparation | Monthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year. | Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly. |
| Input tax credit | Purchase register matched against GSTR-2B each period, with defaulting suppliers chased so eligible credit is actually captured. | Credit claimed from books alone; mismatches with GSTR-2B mean lost credit or excess claims that invite departmental queries. |
Chellappa Street is a residential street in Otteri, about 600 m south-east of the centre of Otteri. The same consultant covers the streets immediately around it — Bhavani Amman Koil Street (about 100 m); Chinnathambi Street (about 200 m); Edward Park Street (about 250 m); Brick Klin Road (about 350 m) — so a site visit on Chellappa Street can usually be combined with other work in Otteri on the same trip. For GST purposes an address on Chellappa Street falls under the Chennai North CGST Commissionerate, and the Otteri pincode is 600012.

Circular No. 177/09/2022-TRU · 2022-08-03
The Board answered a set of service classification and exemption questions arising from the 47th GST Council meeting. Most importantly for property transactions, it confirmed that the sale of land after levelling and after laying drainage, water and electricity lines remains a sale of land under Schedule III and is outside GST, while development services such as levelling and laying of drainage lines that the developer itself receives from contractors attract GST at the applicable rate. Several other exemption and rate questions on specified services were also settled.
How we apply it: Chennai plot developers can rely on this circular for the position that a plot sale price is not taxable, but must still bear GST on the development works they buy in from contractors.
Notification No. 11/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated 28.06.2017 · 2017-06-28
This is the parent notification that fixes the CGST rate for services. It runs as a long table arranged by service accounting code, from construction and works contract under heading 9954, through accommodation, restaurant and transport services, to the residual entry that taxes any service not specifically listed. Many entries carry conditions, most commonly a lower rate available only if input tax credit is not taken. Every later services rate change since 2017 has been an amendment to this notification.
Practical effect: Whenever you are asked what rate applies to a service you supply in Chennai, the answer starts and ends with the current amended text of Notification 11/2017.
30th GST Council Meeting (video conference) — 28 September 2018 (PIB Release ID 1547891) · 2018-09-28
Meeting shortly after the Kerala floods, the Council discussed that State's proposal to impose a cess on SGST to fund rehabilitation and flood-related works. Because GST had removed the States' independent power to levy such a cess, the Council constituted a seven-member Group of Ministers convened by the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, with members from Assam, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab and Uttarakhand, to examine modalities for revenue mobilisation in case of natural calamities and disasters, reporting by 31 October 2018.
What to do about it: This process produced the Kerala flood cess of 2019, the only State-specific GST cess so far, and set the template for how any similar Tamil Nadu levy would have to be approved.
