GST does not distinguish between a large showroom and a small service unit — the due dates and matching systems apply equally to both. Taramani is Chennai's IT-services core, with Tidel Park, the IIT Madras Research Park and the CSIR campus feeding Kanagam Road and Taramani Link Road. Software exporters, engineering R&D units, staffing agencies, MGR Film City studios and campus canteens dominate the local base. Recurring GST pain here is LUT-backed zero-rated export of services, unutilised ITC refund claims, intermediary place-of-supply disputes and branch cross-charge. That is why our GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B Monthly Filing engagements in Taramani follow the same discipline whatever the client's size: written checklists, reconciliation before filing and every acknowledgement archived. Businesses from Perungudi and Velachery run on the same process, entirely over WhatsApp if they prefer.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Freight paid to transporters, advocate fees, imported services and other notified supplies attract GST under reverse charge, with self-invoicing where the supplier is unregistered. We maintain a running RCM check every period, because this is the liability self-filers most consistently miss.
Send your query on call or WhatsApp and you hear back the same working day, usually within a few hours. When a due date is close or a notice has landed, waiting two days for a reply is simply not acceptable, and we know it.
E-invoicing is mandatory once turnover crosses Rs.5 crore and e-way bills apply to goods movements above Rs.50,000. We set up, train and troubleshoot both systems, so your despatches from Taramani are never held up by a compliance gap at the gate.
GSTR-1 by the 11th, GSTR-3B by the 20th, CMP-08 by the 18th after each quarter — we maintain a compliance calendar for every client and start chasing your data well before the due date, so late fees never enter the picture.
You deal with one accountable person who knows your business, your turnover pattern and your filing history. No repeating your story to a new voice every month, and no file falling between two desks when a deadline is approaching.
Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, marketplace reports, plain Excel or even a handwritten bill book — we take your data in whatever form your Taramani business already maintains it. You are never forced to buy new software or retrain staff just to become our client.
At month end we remind you and collect sales invoices, purchase bills and credit notes in whatever format you maintain, including Excel, Tally exports or scanned copies.
We prepare invoice-wise outward supply details, validate GSTINs of your B2B customers, summarise B2C supplies and file GSTR-1 on the portal before the 11th.
We download your auto-drafted GSTR-2B, match it against purchase records, and claim only eligible input tax credit so that mismatches do not trigger scrutiny notices later.
We compute net tax payable after ITC set-off, share the working with you for approval, and generate the payment challan for any cash liability.
After your confirmation and tax payment, we file GSTR-3B before the 20th and send you both filed acknowledgements along with a one-page summary of the month.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.

Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.
Your scheme choice — regular, composition or QRMP — is re-examined as turnover and margins change, so you are always paying under the structure that legitimately costs your business the least.
Interest on delayed GST payment runs at 18 percent per annum, which is costlier than most working capital finance. Timely computation and payment through our calendar keeps that meter permanently at zero.
The hours you or your accountant spent wrestling with the portal, JSON errors and reconciliations every month return to sales, operations and customers, while trained hands manage the compliance in the background.
A fixed professional fee is almost always cheaper than the combination of late fees, interest, lost credit and staff hours that informal, last-minute compliance quietly accumulates over a year.
Complete RFD-01 applications with proper statements and annexures move through the system faster and attract fewer deficiency memos, which means export and inverted-duty refunds reach your bank account sooner.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Goods in transit | E-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty. | A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment. |
| Input tax credit | Purchase register matched against GSTR-2B each period, with defaulting suppliers chased so eligible credit is actually captured. | Credit claimed from books alone; mismatches with GSTR-2B mean lost credit or excess claims that invite departmental queries. |
| Portal credentials and data | Logins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward. | Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data. |
| Registration and amendments | Query-resistant applications prepared correctly the first time, with supporting documents matched to what proper officers actually verify. | Repeated clarification memos and resubmissions, with weeks lost because a rent agreement or premises photograph did not meet expectations. |
| Keeping up with changes | Rate changes, portal updates and new thresholds such as the Rs.5 crore e-invoice limit are tracked by us and applied to your case proactively. | Changes are discovered after the fact — often through a rejected filing, a blocked e-way bill or a departmental letter. |
| Annual return preparation | Monthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year. | Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly. |
12th Lane is a residential street in Taramani, about 1.3 km north-east of the centre of Taramani. The same consultant covers the streets immediately around it — 11th Lane (about 50 m); 13th Lane (about 50 m); 17th Cross Street (about 50 m); 10th Lane (about 100 m) — so a site visit on 12th Lane can usually be combined with other work in Taramani on the same trip. For GST purposes an address on 12th Lane falls under the Chennai South CGST Commissionerate, and the Taramani pincode is 600113.

Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board - AAR Tamil Nadu, advance ruling reported August 2021 · 2021
The Board, based at the DMS Campus in Teynampet, Chennai, owned immovable property and let portions of it to government departments and business entities. It asked whether it needed registration and whether the rent was exempt because the tenant was the government. The Authority held that renting of commercial property by the Board to a government or a business entity is not an exempt supply, so GST was payable on the rent collected.
How we apply it: Chennai landlords letting premises to government offices must charge GST unless a specific exemption entry clearly covers the letting.
Circular No. 167/23/2021-GST dated 17.12.2021 · 2021-12-17
CBIC clarified the mechanics of the new section 9(5) liability for restaurant services supplied through electronic commerce operators. It confirmed that the operator is not required to collect tax at source on such supplies, that the operator must pay the tax in cash without using input tax credit, that the restaurant need not register merely because it supplies through an operator if it is otherwise below the threshold, and that the operator must issue the invoice for those supplies. It also clarified the treatment of the operator's own delivery charges.
Practical effect: Chennai restaurants on delivery platforms should reconcile the platform's monthly statement against their own books before filing, to avoid double payment or an unexplained turnover gap.
GSTN Advisory, September 2022 — changes in Table 4 of Form GSTR-3B pursuant to Notification No. 14/2022-Central Tax, dated 5 July 2022 and Circular No. 170/02/2022-GST, dated 6 July 2022 · 2022-09
From the August 2022 return period the whole of the credit appearing in GSTR-2B must first be reported as credit available in Table 4(A), with ineligible and reversible credit then shown separately in Table 4(B). Reversals that can be reclaimed later, such as those under Rule 37, go into Table 4(B)(2) and the reclaim is reported in Table 4(D)(1). Only the net figure reaches the electronic credit ledger.
What to do about it: Report gross credit and reversals separately in Table 4, because the department now compares your ledger with GSTR-2B line by line.
