GSTR-9 Annual Return in Sembakkam does not have to mean portal errors, guesswork and due-date tension. For a fixed fee starting Rs.4,999, an accountable Chennai practice prepares, reconciles, reviews and files — and remains answerable long after the acknowledgement arrives.
Share your number — a senior GST consultant calls you back within 30 minutes.
Businesses in Sembakkam looking for GSTR-9 Annual Return want two things: work done correctly and someone answerable when questions come. Sembakkam lines Velachery Main Road between Camp Road Junction and Sembakkam Lake, its frontage filled with supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, mobile showrooms and bank branches, while plotted colonies off Vinobaji Nagar and Sri Ram Nagar 100 Feet Road keep promoters busy. Shop tenants here juggle reverse charge on commercial rent, composition-scheme limits and marketplace sales, so GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B reconciliation is the standing worry. We serve this belt — including Selaiyur and Chitlapakkam — with fixed fees quoted upfront, a written document checklist, and filings completed ahead of statutory due dates. Every acknowledgement is shared the day it is generated, and our support continues if the department raises any query on work we have filed.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Goods sent to job workers must move on delivery challans, return within the statutory period, and be reported in ITC-04. We track every outward and return leg for manufacturing clients in Sembakkam, so inputs sent out for processing never quietly convert into a deemed supply carrying tax and interest.
Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, marketplace reports, plain Excel or even a handwritten bill book — we take your data in whatever form your Sembakkam business already maintains it. You are never forced to buy new software or retrain staff just to become our client.
GSTR-1 requires four-digit HSN reporting for turnover up to Rs.5 crore and six digits above it, and a wrong code often means a wrong rate. We verify the classification of what you actually supply, so your invoices and returns rest on defensible codes.
E-invoicing is mandatory once turnover crosses Rs.5 crore and e-way bills apply to goods movements above Rs.50,000. We set up, train and troubleshoot both systems, so your despatches from Sembakkam are never held up by a compliance gap at the gate.
Whenever the GST Council notifies a late-fee waiver or an amnesty window for pending returns or old demands, we check every client's history against it and act within the deadline. Relief that businesses in Sembakkam would otherwise read about after it lapsed reaches our clients in time.
We match your purchase register against GSTR-2B every period, follow up on invoices your suppliers have not uploaded, and ensure every rupee of eligible input tax credit is claimed. Clients routinely recover credit they were silently losing under self-filing.
We gather all twelve months of filed returns, GSTR-2B data, your annual books and the ITC register, and build a single year-wise working file.
Outward supplies per books are matched with GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, and every difference from credit notes, amendments or timing is documented with reasons.
Credit claimed in GSTR-3B is reconciled with GSTR-2B and books, then bifurcated into inputs, input services and capital goods as GSTR-9 tables require.
We share the draft GSTR-9 with a note on any shortfall. If tax is payable, we compute 18% interest and prepare DRC-03 for payment.
After your sign-off we file GSTR-9 before 31 December, file any DRC-03, and hand over the acknowledgement with complete reconciliation working papers.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: 5-7 working days; statutory due date 31 December · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Statutory windows such as thirty days for an ASMT-11 reply are tracked from the day a notice arrives, so responses go in on time, complete, and with your best case properly presented.
Your scheme choice — regular, composition or QRMP — is re-examined as turnover and margins change, so you are always paying under the structure that legitimately costs your business the least.
When a query or verification comes, you respond through a professional who deals with the department regularly, in the department's own language and format, instead of facing an officer's letter alone.
Large buyers check vendor GST compliance before releasing payments and renewing contracts. A clean filing record with timely GSTR-1 uploads keeps your invoices reflecting in their GSTR-2B and your payments unblocked.
Excess balances parked in the electronic cash ledger are identified during regular ledger reviews and either utilised against upcoming liability or claimed back as a refund, instead of sitting interest-free with the government.
Illness, travel or a family function no longer threatens a deadline. With a standing external process holding your calendar and data trail, filings proceed on schedule whether or not you are at your desk.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Risk of notices | GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciled before filing, removing the mismatches that trigger most scrutiny notices. | Inconsistent figures across returns quietly build a mismatch history that surfaces later as ASMT-10 scrutiny or a demand notice. |
| When a notice arrives | A professional drafts the reply in the department's format and files it within the statutory window, such as thirty days for ASMT-11. | You face departmental language alone, and a missed reply deadline can convert a simple query into a demand with penalty. |
| Annual return preparation | Monthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year. | Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly. |
| Goods in transit | E-way bills generated correctly and matched to invoices, so consignments pass roadside inspections without detention or penalty. | A defective or missing e-way bill can mean detention at a checkpoint, with penalties that dwarf the tax on the consignment. |
| Time cost | Roughly an hour a month to send data and approve drafts; the portal work, reconciliation and follow-up are ours. | Hours every month lost to portal errors, JSON files, OTP failures and reworking figures — usually on the due date itself. |
| Record keeping | Every return, challan, acknowledgement and working paper archived in an organised folder, retrievable in minutes years later. | Documents scattered across email, downloads and old phones; assembling records for a bank or an audit takes days. |
We track every notification, circular and judgment that changes a filing position, so your returns and replies reflect the current law.
GSTN Advisory dated 24 September 2024 — archival of GST returns data older than seven years · 2024-09-24
GSTN advised that return data on the common portal is retained for seven years only, after which it is archived and no longer available for viewing or download. Archival started with the earliest tax periods of 2017-18 and proceeds month by month, so one further month of data drops off the portal every month. Taxpayers were advised to download and preserve their returns and supporting data before the archival date for each period.
Why this matters: Download and store PDF and JSON copies of every GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-9 filed since 2017, because archived returns cannot be retrieved from the portal during an audit or appeal.
Entry 74, Notification No. 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated 28.06.2017 · 2017-06-28
Entry 74 exempts health care services provided by a clinical establishment, an authorised medical practitioner or paramedics, and the transportation of a patient in an ambulance. Health care services are defined as diagnosis, treatment or care for illness, injury, deformity, abnormality or pregnancy in any recognised system of medicine, and expressly exclude cosmetic or plastic surgery unless done to restore or reconstruct anatomy affected by injury or congenital defect. Hair transplant and purely cosmetic procedures are therefore taxable.
What to do about it: A Chennai hospital or clinic is exempt on treatment, but must charge GST on cosmetic procedures, pharmacy sales to outsiders and rental of space to shops.
Tamil Nadu Water Investment Company Ltd - AAR Tamil Nadu, advance ruling reported at 2019 (2) TMI 187 · 2019
The Chennai company provided management consultancy and detailed project report services to the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board for water related projects. It asked whether the service attracted GST. The Authority held that the supply was a pure service with no supply of goods involved, rendered in relation to a function entrusted to a municipality, and was therefore exempt from GST under the entry covering pure services supplied to government and local authorities.
Why this matters: Chennai consultants on government water and civic projects should test the pure services exemption before adding GST to their invoices.
