Padi is an auto-component manufacturing pocket anchored by Lucas TVS and allied plants along MTH Road near the Padi flyover, feeding a chain of machining shops, tool rooms and industrial suppliers towards Korattur and Ambattur. Tier-2 vendors here must issue e-invoices once turnover crosses Rs.5 crore and reconcile OEM debit and credit notes promptly to protect input tax credit. Against that backdrop, GST Refund RFD-01 in Padi demands more than data entry — it needs reconciliation before filing, correct classification and awareness of what local officers examine. Our Chennai team provides exactly that to clients in Padi, Ambattur and Villivakkam, with same-day responses on working days and WhatsApp updates at every stage. Most routine engagements complete within one to two working days once documents are in hand.
Not a bulk-filing portal. A senior consultant knows your file, your jurisdiction and your deadlines.
Composition dealers have their own rulebook — CMP-08 every quarter, GSTR-4 annually by 30 June, bills of supply instead of tax invoices, and a turnover ceiling that must be watched. We handle each of these correctly so the scheme's simplicity never turns into a violation.
Winding up attracts its own GST obligations — the cancellation application, reversal of credit on closing stock, and the final return in GSTR-10 within three months. We close registrations properly so a business you shut in Padi never writes back to you as a demand years later.
GST is confusing enough without a language barrier. Our team explains notices, tax positions and filing requirements in plain Tamil or English, whichever you and your staff in Padi are comfortable with, and keeps written communication simple and jargon-free.
New GSTIN applications, core field amendments through REG-14, additional places of business — we prepare complete, query-resistant applications the first time. Clean paperwork is the difference between smooth approval and weeks lost answering clarification memos from the department.
Goods sent to job workers must move on delivery challans, return within the statutory period, and be reported in ITC-04. We track every outward and return leg for manufacturing clients in Padi, so inputs sent out for processing never quietly convert into a deemed supply carrying tax and interest.
GSTR-1 requires four-digit HSN reporting for turnover up to Rs.5 crore and six digits above it, and a wrong code often means a wrong rate. We verify the classification of what you actually supply, so your invoices and returns rest on defensible codes.
We identify the correct refund category, confirm the two-year limitation from the relevant date, and compute the admissible amount using the formula prescribed under the rules.
Invoices, shipping bills, FIRCs, the LUT and ledger extracts are compiled into the prescribed statements, and gaps that commonly cause deficiency memos are fixed upfront.
The refund application is filed on the portal with all annexures and declarations, and the acknowledgement in RFD-02 is tracked within the statutory fifteen days.
We respond to any deficiency memo in RFD-03 or show cause notice in RFD-08, appear through written submissions, and pursue provisional refund where the category permits.
We track the sanction order in RFD-06 and payment advice in RFD-05, confirm the credit in your validated bank account, and archive the complete claim file.
Send these on WhatsApp (+91 - 9600 606 444) and we take it forward the same day.
Timeline: Application filed in 3-5 working days; sanction typically within 60 days · No hidden charges · GST invoice provided
Practical outcomes our clients measure us by.
Your billing staff are guided on invoice fields, rates and series discipline, so mistakes are prevented where they originate — at the counter — instead of being repaired later in the returns.
Excess balances parked in the electronic cash ledger are identified during regular ledger reviews and either utilised against upcoming liability or claimed back as a refund, instead of sitting interest-free with the government.
Because monthly data is reconciled as it happens, GSTR-9 preparation before the 31 December due date becomes a review exercise rather than a painful reconstruction of twelve untidy months.
When a business winds up, proper cancellation and a timely final return ensure the file is genuinely closed, so no demand or late-fee computation resurfaces against you long after the shutters came down.
Statutory windows such as thirty days for an ASMT-11 reply are tracked from the day a notice arrives, so responses go in on time, complete, and with your best case properly presented.
You know your expected GST outflow days before the 20th, not on the night of filing. That advance visibility lets you plan payments, collections and bank balances instead of scrambling for funds at the deadline.
| Aspect | With ChennaiGST | DIY / Unattended |
|---|---|---|
| Late fees and interest | Filings go in ahead of statutory dates, so the Rs.50-per-day late fee and 18 percent interest never arise. | Late fees accumulate silently every delayed day, and interest on unpaid tax runs at 18 percent per annum. |
| When a notice arrives | A professional drafts the reply in the department's format and files it within the statutory window, such as thirty days for ASMT-11. | You face departmental language alone, and a missed reply deadline can convert a simple query into a demand with penalty. |
| Annual return preparation | Monthly reconciliations roll naturally into GSTR-9, filed comfortably before 31 December with figures already agreed through the year. | Twelve months of unmatched data reconstructed in December, with differences discovered too late to be corrected cleanly. |
| Risk of notices | GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciled before filing, removing the mismatches that trigger most scrutiny notices. | Inconsistent figures across returns quietly build a mismatch history that surfaces later as ASMT-10 scrutiny or a demand notice. |
| Portal credentials and data | Logins handled by a small engaged team under strict confidentiality, with credentials stored securely and never passed onward. | Passwords circulating on chats with freelancers and part-timers, and no accountability for who has accessed your business data. |
| Refund claims | RFD-01 filed with complete statements and annexures, tracked from ARN to bank credit, with any deficiency memo answered promptly. | Incomplete claims bounce back as deficiency memos while the refund sits unclaimed for months and working capital stays blocked. |
1st Street is a residential street in Padi, about 200 m north-west of the centre of Padi. The same consultant covers the streets immediately around it — 8th Street (about 150 m); Nethaji Street (about 200 m); Kambar Street (about 400 m); Raja Street (about 400 m) — so a site visit on 1st Street can usually be combined with other work in Padi on the same trip. For GST purposes an address on 1st Street falls under the Chennai North CGST Commissionerate, and the Padi pincode is 600050.

A working knowledge of recent instruments and judgments is what separates a defensible filing from a risky one.
Toshniwal Brothers (SR) Pvt Ltd — AAR Karnataka, Advance Ruling No. KAR ADRG 23/2018, dated 19 September 2018 · 2018-09-19
The applicant promoted the products of overseas manufacturers in India and also carried out installation, commissioning and after-sales support for Indian customers, billing the foreign principal in convertible foreign exchange. The Karnataka Authority for Advance Ruling held that this activity facilitates the supply between the foreign principal and the Indian customer, making the applicant an intermediary. The place of supply is therefore in India and the receipts do not qualify as export of service.
Why this matters: Chennai firms invoicing foreign principals for marketing or support work should test the intermediary risk before treating the receipts as zero-rated exports.
M/s. ATC Tires (P) Ltd v. Joint Commissioner of GST & Central Excise (Appeals) — Madras High Court (Madurai Bench), W.P.(MD) No. 949 of 2022, decided 8 March 2022 (C. Saravanan J.) · 2022-03-08
Refund of about Rs 1.42 crore of unutilised input tax credit for April to September 2019 was denied on the ground that credit had reached the SEZ unit through the head office acting as an Input Service Distributor. The Court allowed the refund, holding that Section 54(3) covers unutilised credit of a unit making zero-rated supplies, and that the second proviso to Rule 89 restricting claims to the supplier applies only to direct supplies to an SEZ, not to distributed credit.
What it means for you: A Chennai SEZ or export unit receiving credit through an ISD registration can still claim refund of unutilised ITC in its own name.
Circular No. 147/03/2021-GST dated 12 March 2021 · 2021-03-12
CBIC modified paragraph 41 of the master refund circular so that the recipient of deemed export supplies is no longer barred from availing input tax credit on the invoices for which he claims refund, since the portal in any case requires him to debit an equal amount from the credit ledger. It also extended the relaxation for exporters who wrongly declared zero-rated supplies in Table 3.1(a) of GSTR-3B instead of Table 3.1(b), and clarified that the cap introduced by Notification No. 16/2020-Central Tax, which limits the turnover of zero-rated supply of goods to 1.5 times the value of like goods supplied domestically, applies equally when computing adjusted total turnover in the denominator of the rule 89(4) refund formula.
Why this matters: Buyers from EOUs and advance-authorisation holders in Chennai can now claim both credit and refund, and the same capped export value must be used in the numerator and the denominator of the refund formula.
